The Y has something for everyone, from children to adults and seniors. The vibe is welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Camp STAR is the reason my son Lucas is able to attend camp at all. For years I searched for a camp, or program that can allow for my son to be and feel included alongside his peers. Finding camp STAR was a blessing for our son and our family. Having adaptive programs is pivotal for families that have children that require additional supports to be able to adapt to programs with peers.
I would love to see more annual programs, afterschool programs, adaptive services offered for most/all programs that are offered. Gymnastics, swim wise program has already proven the need and the growing number of diagnosed children the need outweighs the opportunities in our communities and that os unfortunate. I wish we did not have to turn kiddos away or not develop programs for children with need.
Camp STAR has a phenomenal program that has taken the hardest adaptive program being camp, long days, challenging transitions and so much more and they have some really great assets, i am sure ideas and innovation to grow programs to market to a new demographic, also increase memberships with families seeing options for all their children and inclusiveness will grow family memberships this growing your community. I would sign up 100% and Lucas loves being at the YMCA but other than camp we don’t go because of the lack of adaptive programs. Leaving us with not investing in family membership.
I also see a lot of families through my job that would benefit with more programs for our kiddos and through teens and young adult ages.
I grew up where church had a program for high schoolers but that doesn't happen anymore, our kids still need places to go and social skills vs computers, ipads or TV and not all kids take to school sports nor do they have adaptive options. I feel if any YMCA can grow an adaptive “all around Family” program it will be this one. Camp STAR has really thought of it all. KenzieDresner is a jem, Jimmy, John all of them honestly working collaboratively. I wonder what they could do given the chance! You have some truly fantastic and passionate team members that I am sure would love to see more of these kiddos throughout the year.
The facility is amazingly clean modern and the staff was very helpful. The other members that I interacted with were very friendly and helpful also.
Excellent equipment. Plenty of room for working on my personal goals.

My family loves the y because there’s so many amenities, especially for small children. All of the staff are very friendly and professional.
Kenzie is amazing and deserves a raise. Jeff is amazing too. If possible I would have police during drop off and pick up as people are extremely aggressive driving.
Outdoor everything, it’s safe, counselors have great energy that translates to happy kids, I couldn’t be happier with how accommodating everyone especially Kenzie has been to enable such a great camp experience for Maxwell. She has gone above and beyond,

Great staff and very friendly. My son had a tough time at first but all the staff there were willing to work with him and I which made drop offs so much easier. I also made a request to have one of his friends from his class be in his group and they were willing to work with me. Towards the end of the sessions he is now excited to go to camp. Thank you guys and girls and a special shout out to Miss Kenzie. She is wonderful.
My son attended 3 camps this summer and overall this one ranked the highest.
Grandsons love the swim program.
I like the staff, Fit for Life class, the individual stationary bikes, treadmills and the turf area mats with large therapy ball.
Leanne at the cafe is very friendly and efficient too!

I appreciate the diversity in programming, members and staff. I love that there is something for everyone. The membership offers so much.
The camp staff does a great job varying the activities for the kids week to week or for the weather. What I like most is my twins ask "do we have camp today" because they are having such a good time.
Variety of exercise modalities, quality and upkeep of equipment
My kids have different needs -- we have one in Sterling Woods and one at Camp STAR. Jimmy and Kenzie are top notch. They are super supportive, responsive, accommodating, caring, fun, responsible, etc etc etc. The list goes on.
Our girls brought my husband and me to the Woods over the weekend and gave us a tour. We were both blown away by it... it has sleepaway camp vibes in a day camp. Who could ask for more!?
I appreciate all the art the children do, the different activities to learn more about themselves and the world around them.
My son loves sterling woods, he loves all the adventures that he goes. The staff are amazing and love how engaging they all with my son.

Every day was jam packed with sports related activities. My son went in to camp each morning with a smile and the counselors always cheered when he walked through the door. He couldn’t wait to tell me about the activities they did each day.
I would absolutely rate the Y a 10! The convenience, friendly staff, cleanliness, and availability of classes make it such a wonderful experience for our family.
I highly recommend the Y’s Sharks Swim Academy to anyone and everyone I speak to. Our son, has truly thrived since beginning his swimming journey and lessons at the Beverly Y.
We enjoy saying hello & goodbye to the fish friends in the lobby tank during our weekly visits.
