Fantastic pool - we love that there is nearly always a lane available. My partner and I share a lane, so we're not taking up extra space, but at the Peabody Y, which is closer to where we now live, there's just the standard pool. I would have given a rating of 10 if only there were not the summer reconfiguration for long-course swimmers, which makes far fewer lanes available.
Convenient and full of great equipment
Pool. Sauna. Staff
I am a lap swimmer 🏊 and the pool is large, bright and clean. The staff is welcoming. My only disappointment is the lack of a sauna in the dressing room. I also swim in Marblehead and they have a small sauna in the dressing room and it offers an opportunity to meet and get to know others. The Beverly Y has improvements geared towards younger swimmers, men especially like the very warm sauna . I am a senior and would like a sauna in the dressing room that is not so hot as an opportunity to socialize . I am glad to be a member.
The variety of programs available.
It's spotless, the staff and clients are all very friendly, it is community oriented, and it welcomes everyone from all walks of life. In other words, a and just a great place to be and focus on one's health! And that Olympic sized pool!
My daughter (6) had a great summer - Swimming, Climbing, Learning, and having fun with friends and the amazing camp staff

It was my first time there. I loved the swimming pool(s), and sauna —and one day hope to take a plunge! Reception was very friendly as were the lifeguards. A really positive experience for me. Thanks team!
Great facility and staff. I like that my family can use any ymca in the network too.
The staff are friendly and professional. The equipment is kept up to date and is maintained well. The other members are friendly as well. The building in general is also clean and well maintained.
Great staff , equipment, especially great classes. Locker rooms could be more comfortable like the soul center
Loved the boxing & battle ropes class by Jess! Would go again on Friday nights if it becomes a permanent class!
The classes are great. The kids sports, activities and camps are full of fun filled activities. The staff is welcoming and the Soul Center is another great place to workout.

The summer camp program is amazing! My daughter loved going to camp every day. The staff were wonderful!
Honestly the Staff and Program are amazing! So many activities are provided and very accommodating! Sterling Woods Camp is by far the best camp around and I’m excited for next year! To be honest they are fantastic with my daughter, they all know her by heart and to me that’s really important, plus she has fun and never wants to leave!!
Getting the kids outside and in the woods! They are exposed to so many different activities - it’s awesome. Plus, daily swim is a fan favorite of my daughters. Staff is wonderful and so great with the kids.
This is the 4th year my kids have attending stearling woods for most of the summer. What an incredible program!!! We will be Nick again next year!
My son Julian has been coming here now for two years literally the best! he always raves about how much he loves going to camp, which is such a good feeling for a parent to hear! All the camp counselors were so informative about everything that was going on and they were so sweet every time I dropped him off or picked up, they always had a smile on their faces and an amazing attitude. I feel so grateful to have such an amazing program be available during the summertime.
The Sterling Woods Camp team has been so awesome this summer! Our kids have attended for more than half of the summer and had so much fun. They can't wait to come back next summer! One of our children requires extra support and the team was great about planning ahead and checking in to help them have a great summer. Thank you!
Clean, well equipped, and safe.
