The Beverly YMCA has a great clean pool. Renovations of locker rooms turned out wonderful.
I only use the Y for swimming and I have been swimming there on and off for 40 years. My only complaint of the Beverly YMCA is that the swim classes with music play the music TOO LOUD.
I bet that the level some of the classes play their music would be against some type of safety regulation.
If someone in the pool was quietly asking for help, you absolutely would not be able to hear them. It is so loud at times it is uncomfortable.
If I need to talk with someone you have to yell.
This is a new phenomenon at the Y's. Music never use to be played that loud. Marblehead is the only Y that does not play the music too loud.

William Lai (swim instructor) is the best swim instructor i have ever had. His incredible and kind swim lessons with me resulted in my confidence and enjoyment in the water. I had developed a phobia of the water and just 4 lessons with William were transformational. He is such a talent that the "Y" has. I am so grateful to have found him.
I really appreciate how helpful everyone is. Someone instructed me on the use of a machine without my asking. It's very different from other health clubs where you're on your own. I appreciate that someone is on the floor that you can ask if you want assistance with machines or exercises.
I'm a Marblehead, MA resident but play badminton at the Beverly Y every week. I'm a big fan of this location.
