I had such a wonderful time learning to swim. Facing my fears of the water were Real, and I'm Super Proud of myself at 64 yrs young for taking on the challenge. I still have a ways to go in building up my skills. With Deborah Vance as my Instructor, I know I will make it. She has such patience and handles us with care. She is a real jewel: )

Good ratio of swim instructors to children
I enrolled in the swimming lessons to improve my skill and regain confidence in the deep water. It was a very diverse group of students ranging from grade school age and teen beginners to my elderly, somewhat skilled, self. However, we seemed not to be a challenge for the instructor in any way. She was very patient and conscious of our various skill and confidence levels and it seemed unanimous that we all benefitted, with several stating that they planned to continue with lessons. Thanks, so much!
The swimmer instructor “Ms. Chessie”, at the Hampton YMCA , was the best teacher I have ever witnessed working with her students in the pool ! She had my granddaughter trusting her after only a few minutes. She was “Awesome”, and a true Talent. She connected to the other students one by one , even without help , which I must admit she did need anybody else, except the life guard, who was looking out for her and students.
I just wish she had been there the first week, which the other instructors just didn’t have that connection to the students. It really makes a difference !

My swimming instructor Jordan was very patient, friendly, empowering and helpful. She made the dauntining task of learning how to swim easy and attainable with her warm and comforting approach. I tryly enjoyed my experience and would recommend her as an instructor to anyone who is learning how to swim. She was Excellent!!!
The staff was very professional and patient and worked very well with the kids. Each class started promptly and was a very positive experience.

After 8 weeks of practice, my child came away with definite improved skill. She started out being afraid of getting her face wet to wanting to practice the skills all on her own.
Love Andi’s professionalism, knowledge and interaction with all age levels. Look forward to taking more classes with her.

Nice facility and staff
Instructor was very personable with our daughter and explained our daughter’s strengths and weaknesses and what she focused after each swim lesson and what she plans to focus on next session
My child developed a lot more confidence in the water and is steadily becoming a stronger swimmer. I am so grateful for the support, patience, encouragement, and knowledge of the swim instructors.
Great club doing excellent work
The variety of programs, exercise rooms, and the pool and equipment. Staff at the front desk is always friendly
Everyone is very nice, from the time you walk in and leave. The fitness attendants go out of their way to speak to you.
The lifeguards are excellent at identifying new-young swimmers as well as us older ones. They are so careful to walk the pool when numbers increase.
The pool is well maintained daily with chlorine and temperature checks through out the day.
The facility is pretty clean. The fitness equipment is dusty but then it’s very old. Could use some new fitness- weight machines.
The entrance could use some love with better looking seasonal flowers or shrubs. Perhaps you could enlist some local master gardeners to assist in Providing a pollinator garden. This could be used as an educational resource for the summer camp kids as well as daily daycare children.
Plus it would help reduce the thermal

The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. They always greet you with a smile.
