It’s all I need in one place. Nice variety of classes for retired folks like me and Stay and Play for my grandson. My son’s family joined the Pasadena location as well as a friend. So yes I certainly recommend it!
Friendly staff and welcoming environment
They are very friendly and helpful. You get a lot of good things for the money.
The best thing that my family loves about the YMCA in Arnold, Md. Is that the pool water is very warm , which makes our swimming exercises very comfortable to do.. The other YMCA locations water is much to cold for us.
The day care center for my youngest is also a very fun experience. The gym is nice and big with plenty of space and equipment.
Thank you for the great experience that we have at your location. My family drives all the way from Carroll county just for the pool its self.
Convient
The Y is available when I cannot run in the summer heat or winter cold. The pool is great year round. The staff are always friendly and polite.
I love it there....
It's not a gym, it's a community!
I like new looks and programs, especially group exercise on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday at 10:30 AM.
I like the variety and abundance of classes, I like the wide range of machines available and the extensive weight training facilities.
The Pilates, yoga and Zumba teachers.
All of the equipment is the best quality and Victor's spin class is the best around!
Good facilities and programs
I can usually get on the equipment I'm ready to use for my workout.
The location, parking and having a number of spinning classes (my favorite workout) available each day. The remodeling is fantastic!! I've also begun walking the beautiful AACC campus circuit after I visit the Y!
I love the classes I take! Circuit with Jeanine or I love Carol as a sub. However, we could use more equipment such as rubber bands and small balls. Body pump with Ashley and Tina is excellent. I also enjoy yoga on Sat morning but would enjoy it even more if it was at 8:00 or 8:30 am. We've also been pleased with the homeschool classes for my boys.
Availability of equipment and extremely friendly staff.
Very wonderful place to do whatever you need to do to keep it. Love this home away from home,
I love the art and PE homeschool class. The instructors are excellent especially Heather Smith!!!
We really enjoy it as a family, and the new (to us) national membership is a real pleasure too. We made use of that for the first time this past weekend at the granparents' house, and it went really well.
I really enjoy the floor exercise classes with Linda. She’s great.
This is a great PE program that my daughter enjoys very much. Keeps them active while having fun.
We love all of the equipment, variety of classes and family events.
Flexibility, if we can’t make a swim class- we’re able to drop in for another class.
The Y in Arnold is great overall. I would have given a 10 as we have loved our experience there; however, our current class (Level 4 swim) was less than good. The instructor rarely got into the pool and these kids are 6 & 7 years old and need a hands on instruction. Then I was told my kid wasn't following instructions well...again, 6 & 7 year old kid that unless you are in front of they will be a little distracted (his level of distraction wasn't anything more than one would expect from a 6 year old). We had a poor experience this swim lesson season.
We originally came to the Y because of your swimming lessons. We have a 3-year-old who needed to start learning how to swim. I didn't know who any of the swimming instructors were when we signed up for our first set of lessons, but we really, really lucked out when we were enrolled in Nikki's class. She is THE BEST! She is so good at balancing the common fears some toddlers/little kids have about the water with the need to instruct. She doesn't listen to whining/crocodile tears/excuses from my preschooler, but at the same time, she has a lot of empathy and knows when the tears/whining escalate to actual tears/being afraid. (I think that's really commendable because when you don't know a young child, it's really hard to tell what they're communicating.) I can't say enough good things about her! We were only planning on doing two sessions this winter/spring (and this is our second one) but now I'm not so sure--we might miss her too much!
Offers so much

Love the Y. The breadth of programs versus the costs is terrific, and the recent upgrades have made things even better.
