Before School of Rock, there was no place for youths to learn to play music like this, or to be part of a "band" that performs in public without a ton of luck being involved. After the awesomeness of the 90's, music took a turn away from people in bands to more computerized music. Hopefully through School of Rock, maybe the great music of the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's, where people in bands got together to play, will come back and a new generation with music played by people in bands is created again.
School of Rock helped unlock a passion for music that was in my son. I love the structure they provide in teaching music and an environment where he feels he belongs. One note is after every lesson, the instructor emails an update. This fosters a connection for the parent so that they aren't oblivious of what their child is doing or learning (often times with tweens and their activities!)

I like that it’s non-traditional and rock/pop based instead of based on nursery rhymes and or classical technique which most other programs are. And that the instructors are working professionals.

My teen has thrived in the SOR community. They are always excited about class, performances and house band. The school has been welcoming, inclusive, educational and fun.

We've loved our School of Rock experience! It's been such a great way for my daughter to learn guitar, but also to learn to work with others, building up a full set and performing live at a real venue! It was beyond what our expectations of what music lessons could be. And the School of Rock staff instructors and staff have been like family these past few years!

The administration and teachers are so good with kids. The atmosphere at the school is inviting and warm; it's an easy place to learn and everyone feels welcome there.
My son was begging for a way to start to learn guitar and drums, but many of the local programs don't go as young as 5. I am SO happy I found the Rookies Winter Camp! As soon as he walked out the door on the very first day, he said, "That was a SUPER fun day." And by 3 days in, he was already begging me to keep learning how to play piano and drums. The instructors were great, and were so great at introducing concepts at the right level and helping these kids to fall in love with music in a lasting way. We'll be back!
I like that this program is well-organized and knowledgeable. My daughter likes to work in teams and make music in groups, and this is a great way to learn how to interact with others through music. It also helps them to perform, and the instructor so far is passionate, very interactive, and patient.
There were many features about the program that were appealing. Students were able to trial new instruments, and thus learn and showcase their skills. The instructor was very positive and engaging with students. The kids got to work with each other and practice teamwork. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and reignited our daughter's interest in music. Thank you for a great week!
I love how motivated the kids are to play and practice! My daughters love it so much that I gifted 3 months of lessons and Rock 101 to my nephew for his birthday!

Super supportive music teachers and great performance programs!
Both of our kids LOVED this camp experience. The fact that they could have never picked up instruments on Monday and then be able to have a concert by Friday is a testament to the school. Also it's so nice to have the camaraderie of a band vs. learning on your own

The environment created by Dylan and maya is very positive. They work extremely hard and are always so positive, thoughtful and helpful.
The overall format of having a personal lesson and the group session is a particularly unique opportunity to learn/reinforce material so thank you for mastering this concept.
You would think managing the kids would be the difficult part….but nope it’s us, the adults. Dylan has done a great job dealing with a bunch of needy adults who frankly probably should spend more time practicing their instruments and less time complaining:)
So hats off to Dylan. He is a patient man and a blessing for the school to have on board. And he really knows his stuff.
