Kids are enjoying the classes. Always excited to attend.
We love watching our child grow musically and confidently in areas such as performing, friendships and academics. School of Rock has exceeded our expectations in several different ways. It’s a great school for kids who love music, performing and working with peers.
The unique teaching makes my kids enjoy learning instruments in a group setting!
The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable. There is a family vibe between the staff and students. I feel this connection makes it easier to bring out the best in each student. My daughter loves her lessons and is so proud of what she accomplishes each time.
Mia, the energy, the lessons learned
I love the band/playing with others experience!
We were looking for an activity for our son. Everyone pushes sports and he just is not a sports kiddo. Someone suggested School of Rock. From the moment we stepped foot in Highland Heights School of Rock it felt like we found the place we needed to be! Allison at the front desk warmly welcomed us and took us on a tour. She shared information about the school and programs and continues to be the point person if we have any questions!! We appreciate her knowledge and guidance through this.
We then started off in Rookies and met the WONDERFUL Sophia. The love, support and encouragement that she showed for our son is unmatched. He LOVED going to the Rookies class and always came out smiling.
It was then time to choose and instrument and move to Rock 101. When we questioned our sons instrument choice, Allison and Sophia had no doubt that he could do it!
We are now in Rock 101 with the WONDERFUL Sophia and now we have added WONDERFUL Eric to this team. Eric is always positive, supportive and PATIENT!!! All things our son needs to be successful! And boy are we blown away with how much he has learned in this short period of time!!
Our son had his first Rock 101 performance and our sons family were literally crying tears of joy watching him having fun and the confidence that has been built in him. We cannot wait for the spring performance!
We just want to thank everyone at Highland Heights School of Rock for being such a positive influence in our sons life. If I could recommend this program to EVERYONE I would. Thank you for all that you do fore these kids and adults!! We appreciate every single one of you!!
Welcoming, great instructors, and the performance has helped my son gain a lot of confidence!
The team building skills it provides, the confidence it instills, and shows how hard work pays off.
My son absolutely loves his time there. So far, it's been a an absolutely wonderful experience for him!
Positive and not competitive
First off, the instructors are top notch. My son has flourished working with several different instructors. The programs are excellent, they are a great way to teach and advance musical skills while also being fun and entertaining.
Everything! Instructors are great, my son LOVES performing, it’s a positive environment, the variety of music/shows. It’s been so good for his confidence and self esteem. Overall it’s just a wonderful program!
Great people and everyone is nice.
Has helped our son build so much confidence.
I really like learning songs and having the challenge to play them on stage at the end of the season. I feel like I’m actually learning how to play the bass and not just to noodle.
It gave my son a chance to build confidence and experience music he wanted to play. The feedback from the instructor was helpful in keeping him focused. He has learned so much and enjoys attending this program. Thank You
Everyone is dedicated to the student making the best of their talent and ability. I cannot think of a better avenue to enjoy learning about music and developing a skill that might take you as far as you are willing to go.
I love the staff and the other participants. Learning and growing in vocal and performance skills is great!
The SOR model has been incredible for my 17-year old son. Although already a musician, he had zero experience with the guitar and wanted to learn to play. I love that he gets 1:1 lesson time and incorporates everything he's learning into his group lesson in the same week. I am very impressed with the effectiveness of the instruction and can't believe how much progress he has made. I also really love the accompanying app, and I find it very easy to reschedule lessons that he has to miss due to his busy schedule. The staff does a great job and what they're able to do with a group of young musicians in a short time frame is nothing short of remarkable.
That my son is learning different genres of music and that he can be creative. Also, with being matched with the right instructors, his performance and confidence improves tremendously! Very positive environment!
I am currently part of the Undergrads program for 18-20 year olds and I absolutely love the School of Rock!! Although I have played bass guitar on and off for 3 years. This past season (fall/winter of 2023) was my first season playing at the School of Rock and my first time in a band.
Being at the School of Rock has drastically improved my playing very quickly. The one-on-one lessons allow me to work on techniques that I am interested in as well as work on parts of songs that are difficult to me. TJ (my bass instructor) is amazing! He teaches both necessary technical aspects and personal aspects of being a bass player.
The group lessons allow me to collaborate with other musicians around my age and learn how to play in a band, which might not sound like much, but playing in a band is VERY different from playing on your own. The group thrives together and everyone depends on each other. Because of this dependency, everyone is encouraged to learn their parts so that they keep up with the group. My bandmates all encourage each other to be better. Something to keep in mind is that communication is VERY important. Communicating with your instructor, director, and bandmates is what allows the music to come together correctly. We know when we make mistakes (oftentimes difficult parts for one instrument are difficult for others as well) and we all figure out ways to overcome these difficulties together.
Jessi, the director of Undergrads, is incredible and helps us all stay on track. She has a wonderful knowledge of music and is very thoughtful. Jessi helps us learn our cues, helps bridge some gaps in communication when they do happen, and thoughtfully critiques our playing, all which help us improve our playing and understanding of the music and each other.
Overall, the School of Rock is absolutely incredible and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in playing an instrument. Something to note is that you definitely must have time to practice outside of class! Playing at the School of Rock is a thrilling experience that I look forward to every week.
The instructors are great with the kids and it is a positive environment.
I love how inclusive the programs at School of Rock are! My weird kid fits in perfectly!!
