Great instruction & a self confidence booster! Even though if you are an adult you are a minority, it is great to have an instructor who is used to teaching children since their instruction is very basic and easy to follow. I did not have any music background at all, but I have learned so much that it really increases my self confidence and removes an item from my bucket list. I love it!

I love the SOR. It was a little weird being an adult among lots a children, but you get over it fast when you start to get fantastic lessons. I just gave it a 9 instead of 10 because when I call to cancel an appointment, I have to leave a message instead of talking to a person which gets annoying after a while. But I do highly recommend SOR to anyone at any age. It proved to me that it is never too late to learn something new.

Rookies is great for my 6 year old daughter! She learns a lot and has fun while doing it!
My son really learned a lot in just 8 months time, I have seen him transformed from not knowing how to play a guitar to really loving it and playing it very well. Unlike when he was taking piano lessons for about 3-4yrs somewhere else, I do not have to remind my son to practice. He takes the iniative to pick-up his guitar every day to practice his songs and even learning some songs from “Ultimate guitar” app! When I initially enrolled my son to School of Rock, I was a little skeptic on how good they really are, besides the fact that the monthly fee is quite hefty, but they proved me wrong. Although, I’ve heard a lot of good things about School of Rock from a former co-worker, I just refused to believe at first that they really transformed a novice performer to an “Amazing” one! THANK YOU School of Rock! Keep up the good work!!!
The programs are great but I do have one request - at the shows there are a lot of grandparents that come and there is nowhere to sit. I request that you put out more chairs. I understand the concept of a concert but it really is sad that so many grandparents leave because they cannot stand that long. Please, please, put out more chairs.
Patient, knowledgeable, professional, experienced, friendly teachers and responsive staff. Nice facilities and equipment. Very fun and practical/useful instruction, which motivates practice for pleasure.

The incorporattio of group lessons in the Rock 101 program
My son is drummer and has been enrolled at SoR San Diego for 2 1/2 years and he loves it! He's grown as drummer and made a lot of new friends. Prior to SoR, he played drums alone in our garage. Playing with other musicians (and these kids are amazing) has challenged Ethan and given purpose to his practice! Getting experience at performing live in front of an audience just like rock stars do is the pay off for months of practice and rehearsals. The teachers are all passionate about music and supportive of all the student musicians. I sincerely recommend SoR to any young musician who wants to get better at their instrument and Rock!
Our daughter has opened up so much, and now can sing in front of friends. We’ve noticed she looks forward to her lesson. She has gained confidence. The staff is nothing but amazing.

I like the atmosphere at School of Rock - kids are encouraged to be themselves, and the quality of the programs are first rate. The instructors know an incredible amount about music, and are really positive with students. I also like the opportunity to play music at real venues, and learning how to set up equipment and break it down at the end.

My child enjoys it. The teachers and staff are very nice.
We just started, but I love that the group lessons reinforce what is taught in the private lessons. They provide a purpose to learning and practicing because you have to be able contribute your portion to the group's success. It's like you have a mini recital every week.
When my daughter was taking piano lessons with recitals twice a year with her previous teacher, it was challenging to get her to play at the correct tempo and even to hold her notes for the proper count. I don't think she understood why that was important. She just felt it was more fun to play it as fast as possible and get through her practice as fast as possible. Being in a group (hopefully) corrects that issue...you have to play at the right speed and for the right counts or you will throw the whole group off. You also have to practice or you will stand out for all the wrong reasons.
I also like that School of Rock provides a very structured program, but it's still fun and fresh. It seems to strike the right balance for our family...musicianship without the stuffiness. I'm also really looking forward to watching my kids perform on stage.
