The person that did the inspection was very courteous and answered all my questions and overall did an ok job. I was a bit disappointed in the final air leakage test, he only ran the fan for a short time and when I inquired if he found any leaks his comment was he didn't see detect, probably due to the size of the house. At know point was a told the size of the house could be a factor in conducting the tests. I was hoping to use this to indicate / prioritize windows / doors (or other areas) to focus on. I'm sure if he ran it for longer, something would have been detected.
Also, the test was schedule for 3 hours, I was told it should only take 2-2.5 hours, he was gone in after 1.5 hours, all this make me wondering if he did a thorough enough job give the size of our house (3500 sqft excluding basement). The house was built in the 70s so I'm sure there is areas that need addressing.
I will await the final report before discuss it further with someone.

The communication was constant from booking the appointment right through the inspection till the end of inspection. They had a lot of equipment to bring in and set up, yet it was done extremely fast before you knew it, it was all gone - loaded back up into their vehicle. No mess was left behind for us to clean up.

The timeline I was given for my report was 3-4 weeks. It has been almost 9 weeks since the energy audit was done and I still have not received the report.

After seven months and repeated phone calls to Amerispec requesting the promised revisit to confirm purchase of heat pumps and re-evaluate efficiency after recommended improvements were made, I called Efficiency Nova Scotia to complain that I was getting nowhere. We have not seen a penny of any federal or provincial rebates because Amerispec made no effort to provide the necessary follow-up. Efficiency Nova Scotia had to put pressure on Amerispec to send an evaluator down from Dartmouth to perform the needed brief evaluation. We have no idea when we will receive the federal or provincial rebates that have been promised, but the inefficiency and inertia of Amerispec has delayed the process by almost eight months.
