I like the movers and packers. I had some damage to a table, that can happen, at first I was responded to promptly, them got lost in the system and received no response for a week. Richard planned my move and the timing was off and he was unreachable, (the entire time he was hard to get a hold of). That added a lot of stress and lengthened the day.
There were clips for shelves on cabinets that were not secured and lost (probably fell out) in the move. So now I need to go around and find pegs/clips that work for shelves in cabinets.
I thank management for solving a difficult scheduling problem.
Moving team leader (who drove down from Bakersfield to LA) was exceptional.
Quick and efficient
The loaders did not wrap the two expensive adjustable beds with plastic. They dragged them onto the truck and ruined the white fabric with dirt and grease. These beds cost $1000 each and now they have to be replaced. In addition they loaded heavy boxes on top of lighter boxes causing them to get crushed during shipment. Also had damage to wooden table that was not wrapped or padded. This crew did not know how to load a truck properly!

The guys worked really hard and I do appreciate that but they didn't take all of my items and I'm by myself and it's very difficult for me and I'm gonna have to take makes several trips back to the house to take light items but some things are heavy and my toolbox for instance so I'm concerned that the reason I was given because I couldn't load the truck and put my stuff on top of other things because they're afraid it was gonna get smashed but I've moved several times and it's never taken more than one truck I'm a single guy and I live in a lived in a 3 bedroom house but I only use 2 of the bedrooms and so very Abbott

The student athletes were very professional and took care of our belongings. They hustled all day even though they had to carry things up and down our steep driveway. We would highly recommend them!
Meathead movers are very professional, reliable and friendly. I'd use them again and highly recommend this moving service. Priced very reasonably.
Excluding the team lead I felt like the team that did the packing was very slow and not as efficient as they could be. Our home is not that big and they spent 3 hours packing 3 rooms upstairs.
1. Did not wear masks.
2. Did not bring hand truck or tools.
3. Did not put bed together correctly.
4. Did not finish expected work on schedule.
Honestly, the move went well but the details were slightly disappointing.
Notes about the coordinator:
- After going back and forth with my move coordinator and even scheduling a face time call for her to see everything, what she booked for the move on paper did not match what the movers and packers were expecting/experienced.
- There were drawers under my bed that she said wouldn't need to be boxed individually that the packers insisted they needed to be emptied for the movers.
- The packers didn't bring enough boxes as a result of her estimate so they had to leave my lamp shades out which resulted in them being damaged during the move.
- The movers didn't know the schedule of how many people were driving up with the truck and when the items were being unloaded (slightly scary when they said "this is getting delivered tomorrow right?" and I had to correct them). The first page of my paperwork said I'd have 3 movers so I assumed that would be on both ends but it ended up being 3 who loaded me but only 2 that unloaded - something that I would have appreciated being clarified.
- She said she would call me the day the packers came to make sure all went smoothly but I haven't heard from her since I signed my paperwork.
Notes about the packers:
- They were nice and polite during the process but while I was unpacking, I noticed that they didn't use packing paper in multiple boxes full of kitchen items. This resulted in scratches and chips in some of my items including my ceramic coated pots and pans.
- Comment about them not having enough boxes and leaving my lampshades out is listed above.
Notes about the movers:
- Again, same as the packers they were very nice, polite, and worked extremely hard! Them as people, I loved!
- At the end of my load day, I had to sign paperwork about what was on the truck and the main person said that he didn't have a chance to finish filling it out but had me sign it anyways (the pages listing all my boxes and furniture). This didn't bother me too much because I knew the truck was only going to have my things on them and nothing would be mixed, but I still felt a little weird signing incomplete paperwork
- Not their fault since they don't schedule things, but as I mentioned above I was under the impression that 3 movers would be unloading which is what I told my condo association when they scheduled me a moving time slot and a security guard (the movers finished on time thankfully but it was extra stress for me constantly checking the time)
- Two of my furniture items items did arrive with minor damage, to be expected in any move but since I've written out this list I thought I'd make it complete.
My move was in October, honestly I wasn't planning to write up this feedback because in the grand scheme of things, everybody showed up when they were supposed to and all my items arrived which is really all I could ask for. I will absolutely recommend Meathead Movers because I felt the price was reasonable/competitive, the people I spoke to and worked with were friendly and professional, and the move was performed successfully, but what's listed above are items I'd probably discuss with any friends and family members before their move.

Everyone was so nice and easy to work with! We will definitely be contacting them in the future if we ever need help moving again.
A fourth mover was added and the move still long as the movers worked slowly, so the cost of an additional person did not benefit me - not worth a $2,000+ bill for an ~ 8 mile move. Definitely feel cheated.
2 items were broken visibly and although we received compensation for the lamp we did not for the trunk wheels. Also, the movers did a horrible job reassembling my son's bed and broke several slats and completely left off a side panel that would require a complete take down and rebuild to replace. The service rep who met with us over promised and the movers under delivered. As the most expensive moving company we expected a much better experience and we were left underwhelmed with the service. We are still finding issues with our furniture-banged up legs and missing screws/parts. It is a big disappointment as we had read such great reviews from others.

I have used Meathead movers several times and have been extremely pleased with the movers and the company. Recently they moved several pieces here locally. Having never had an issue or any damage I failed to read the fine “print” and I initialed that any damage that occurred would be cover at 60 cents per pound. The marble top to my server was lifted and carried improperly and broke into. Replacement cost was requested and three bids submitted with a claim to be forwarded to their ins carrier. Instead after almost 2 months I called to follow up and was told “your aren’t going to be happy” we weighed the marble top at a 100 pounds. So we are willing to credit you $137. This breakage was a result of the movers improper handling. In their defense they were extremely sorry. I still tipped them a $100 each. It was an accident but not at my expense. I am flabbergasted at their response. Claim was never submitted to Ins carrier.
I called and requested to speak to an owner and received a call back but not from the owners.
The call was recorded. Hopefully someone will listen to the conversation.

Movers were not very organized and not on time
Service was terrific! Everything was handled with care and the move was completed efficiently. They were very kind and made the process as smooth as possible. I will be utilizing Meathead Movers again once my new home is completed.
“How did we disappoint you..” where to start! First I was quoted one thing for two trucks and then when it was determined that I needed two trucks I was told a different price which was higher of course. I had to waste my time arguing and escalating to have you honor your first quote. Which cost me time and stress which is at a premium when you ar e moving.
If that wasn’t enough when you came out days later for the second move with the second truck someone didn’t listen when I said that the items identified in the first move were not taken And would need to be taken in the second truck. Because no one listened I had to once again argue and escalate my case to No avail. The second truck came only took some items and I had to get a uhaul to finish my move. Again costing me money and time and stress. The reason I rated you a zero was because the young men who did the actual move were very good. If not for them I would rate with a negative number.
Very prompt
Too costly and a day or so after the guys left, I realized my furniture was damaged, deep scratches on my sold wood bed rails, dresser and night stands. This is solid wood Stanley "Louis Phillip" collection from Red Door Furnishings, for which I paid $5,939.38! I have the receipts.
I do have to say the guys were very professional and accommodating. I had underestimated how long the job would take and went over couple hours, for which I paid a premium.
