It's a wonderful facility. I rated it 9 instead of 10 because there are too many children there for me.
I have used a personal trainer and we used the strength training equipment on the second floor.
I have also attended a few group exercise classes.
I'm a new member so I'm just learning about the center and how it might meet my fitness needs.

Fantastic facility, new and excellent equipment with a fabulous indoor walking track. Well trained and welcoming staff. Very clean and safe environment for kids and family alike. Enough courts for Pickel ball, basketball etc. have family membership for past 16 months and have no complaints. There is flexibility to pause membership if need be with a small fee which is a great facility to have. There are many training and other programs organized which are easy to register for and at reasonable rates.
The only reason for 9 is that we don’t have tennis courts and cost of clubbing membership with Natatorium for swimming is very expensive and should be revised to the 2024 rate slabs.

Yes great center
The Stephen Terrell facility in Allen is a "state-of-the-art" facility. I LOVE the indoor play-ground for the children. Plenty of seating around for parents to be close by, working on laptops or just conversing with each other, while keeping an eye on their children. I enjoyed watching the children having fun.
Personally, I love the indoor walking/running track, I'm not a fan of the heat, so walking indoors was perfect for me. The exercise equipment is also great.
This facility has meeting rooms, party rooms, etc. I love this facility!

Equipment and space
Overall, the recreation center is very nice and it includes many activities. It is crowded on occasion which can be frustrating as there are many youth at the center who tend to take over workout areas without consideration for others waiting to use the equipment. Many sit at weight machines and listen to music on their head phones via their phones, while also texting and e-mailing others, which consumes a lot of time forcing others to wait for extremely long periods of time. Why are their not posted rules that can be enforced to prevent this from occurring. If this could be fixed the experience would be much better.
It is a nice facility and I like walking around the track and using the stairs. I also enjoy the exercise classes.

I love the facility… The classes are great and I appreciate that the equipment is clean and well maintained.
The one thing that I would love is if we could have room downstairs to do weights. As a woman, I do not feel comfortable lifting weights upstairs and would rather have privacy in one of the group exercise rooms. I understand there’s hesitancy due to equipment loss, but I can assure you that’s not from a middle-aged woman!! There is not really any space upstairs to be able to use the lighter weights that are available in the group classroom without being in the middle of the workout area.
