I really have several feelings about the Columbia City YMCA most of which is good. The indoor walk track is quite difficult to walk on because it tilts downward which make it a bit difficult.
Also the pool area really needs updated to have a hot tub. I greatly helps to relax the muscles after a good workout.
Now I love to go workout there because I don't feel like I am being stared at. The machines I use works the muscles I need to work on the most. I have progressed greatly on my weight loss journey.
I greatly appreciate that there are electrical machines in our machines and track that is not banked so I am able to use these items.
The facility is clean, equipment in good condition, and staff are friendly and helpful. Seems to be well operated.
I alw as ya feel better after I work out and also enjoy the company.
I like how clean and well-organized the Skyline Y is. I was skeptical of the eGym being able to give a full body, balanced workout, but after using it for months, I can definitely feel - and see - the results. My wife thanks you. ;-)
The staff is also top notch. AJ specifically is always great for a pleasant chat and laugh and the 'joke of the day' bucket is fantastic. The little touches make the difference.
I recommend the place to everyone. :-)
Excellent staff and facility.
Love, love, love Skyline Y! Everything is really great—there’s nothing I would cite that needs improvement. Fairly recently, I attended my first ever class and am now addicted to it. Excellent team effort, always accessible—there’s nothing more satisfying than being a Y member and using Skyline Y as my home base.
The outdoor pool looks nice this year.
It would be great if it was easier to come swim and shower before leaving. The single shower in the ladies room does not work well. Access to the main locker rooms without having to go all the way around to the front entrance would be ideal.
All the recent updates are nice. Friendly staff. Clean.
Friendly staff. Family atmosphere.
I use the track upstairs to walk, but I wish their was a restroom upstairs also. As a senior, it is a long trek to the bathroom when the need is urgent. I do like having so much available close to my home (2 1/2 miles).
I like the group exercises for the most part. I do think some of the instructors are a little nieve and should act a little more suffocated dealing with the senior clientele. Seniors aren’t interested to hear all of your business and expect a little more teaching than talking!! The service team has been great. Would like to see more more classes like Amanda, who teaches in Monday at 11:30. Her personality is so up beat and she works hard to prepare a fun filled actual workout. All live her classes
Clean facility, well-maintained and supervised.
Very nice facility, and very friendly people. Shauna's Bang the Drum class was very good!
The skyline ymca has all the basic facilities to make a workout successful. It is where you are known by name and extend your range of acquaintances. The gym is kept spotless by the smiling staff and mindfulness of the clients.
It’s clean and everyone is usually very friendly. One thing that could be improved is to get a bigger changing table for kids that need it in the child watch area. My 2 yr old pooped and the staff called me to come change his diaper in the middle of my workout simply because the changing table in the child watch area is too small. At other facilities, they’re always able to change my 2 yr old.
Friendy and helpful staff, good selection of activities for seniors, usually pretty clean (could be an area to imporve, but at present it is OK)
Huge variety of classes and ways to exercise! Clean and well maintained facility and equipment. As a senior, I so appreciate Cindy Brandt is certified to lead classes with senior health and safety focus. Great to have knowledgeable instructor passionate about helping seniors live better! Keep up good work, Jorgensen!
Low fee & kind teachers (instructors) & clean facilities
Katie Cunningham did a great job transitioning us from machine to machine easily! The views of downtown while working out are a plus!
Love the atmosphere, great place to workout.
Staff are friendly. There's a variety of options.
I suggest that mats be added to the gyms so that they are on the walls at the end of the pickle ball courts. I think you would find this would prevent injuries for a relatively low cost. You already have them for the (much) younger basket ball players.
The trainers, class leaders, front desk, maintenance staff - all are friendly and supportive. I am always greeted when I arrive and acknowledged when I leave. First class aqua instructors in Kate, Laurie, and Dora. They are knowledgeable and engaging. There is a community within the adult aqua classes - a wonderful atmosphere. Thanks also for the monthly adult luncheon and even the would-you-rather surveys in the front lobby.
I would give you a ten except some of the facilities are a bit worn. And there could be more showers in the women's locker room.
I'd let you share my name to promote the Y, but my son works there, so it seems a bit disingenuous.
The Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6 AM bootcamps, and the general cool, casual atmosphere. Eddie, you're doing a fantastic job!!
A great place to work out, very friendly staff members . Always ready to help you.
Good selection of equipment, good hours, clean, and friendly staff.
Access to unlimited classes and variety of classes
Friendly people, not too crowded, good machines
I like the staff. They have always been kind and courteous even when their job is demanding and overwhelming. I also enjoy the peace of mind having my time to workout and have my kids needs being met.

The classes I am currently taking have helped strengthen me to improve my running for 5K events.
