The Y is a welcoming and wonderful place. My teens love the basketball court and 6 hours of dedicated open gym hours on the weekends. I love the classes with caring and knowledgeable instructors. I love that the employees treat me with kindness and encouragement, it makes the Y feel like my home away from home.

The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. The facility is very clean and the swim classes are very impactful.
My 8 year old son is attending Camp Skyline in the American Tobacco complex in Downtown Durham. He normally hates going to camp, but he has loved this one. He specifically has said that the counselors are very kind and that they are good at keeping the bigger kids from being mean to the littler kids.
He's also coming home sweaty and hungry and tired, which is my goal for camp for my kids.
Our son has had a great summer at the Downtown Durham YMCA Day Camp! He has made great friends and always comes home talking about all of the fun activities they do each day. The counselors are also fantastic! I know when we drop our son off each day he is in a safe and fun environment, which is what we look for in a camp experience!

It's okay.
Needs more gym exercise balls and the sauna needs to be fixed.
Easy access to weight room equipment that is well maintained and varied. (Not all gyms have all the leg machines that the downtown Y has.).
Love the pool— especially when it’s so crazy hot one doesn’t even want to go outside to swim.
Appreciate the class options too. I don’t take advantage of those as often as I’d like, but like knowing those options are there!

Mr. Gordan and Ms. Nevera (sp) were courteous, informative and resourceful. My 13 y.o. grandchild enjoyed a week of enlightenment and fun! Thanks!

It's just great. The helpfulness of the staff is remarkable .
Lots of people have helped me at various times. I wish I knew all their names, but Maria, Wilson, Elijah, Lexx are names I know, so come to mind.
And all the woman at the front desk are very kind and personable, always interested in my progress. They called GoAccess for me when I lost my phone. The two in the upstairs office (next to the water fountain), also are encouraging and let me borrow a 'clicker' to count laps. Very helpful!
Staff members Elijah and Wilson worked to bring up HGTV on a TV in front of the treadmill, after that channel just disappeared. Went out of their way to do so. It wasn't an easy task.
The custodian always welcoming with a friendly greeting. It's a wonderful gym to be a member of.
I'm 83 and am walking better today, in my old age,, because of the Downtown Y in Durham.. Feeling good The!

HGTV has disappeared again. Could it be left on permanently? It was there for two years or more,, always on TV #2.
And now is nowhere to be seen. I hate to keep bothering the staff about it, so I don't mention it anymore.
