This YMCA is great, but I have the following feedback:
1. YMCA still has done NOTHING to address the "7 year old gap." Meaning, kids who are 7 basically can't do anything without their parents. They can't go into child watch, but they also can't get a swim band or do any exercising on their own. This is a huge problem, and although I have raised it NUMEROUS times, no one in authority has cared enough to ever discuss it with me or indicate a willingness to make some change in policy. This creates a hardship for many families with kids.
2. YMCA needs to do a better job making sure that the schedule on the app matches with the real life schedule at the location. I have had multiple times where I drove half an hour to get to the gym, only to learn upon arrival that the app was wrong and that the court was taken up by some other activity or organization. Huge waste of my time, and should be easy to fix.
3. There needs to be a rule for the court that when there are people waiting and wanting to play basketball, people can't monopolize the entire thing by demanding an entire-court-full-court game to exclusion of everyone else. The current system is a sort of anarchy where whoever asserts dominance gets to kick others off. The most efficient way to handle this is to require that groups use only half of the court, or a quarter of the court, when others are waiting and wanting to use the court. If 15 or 25 people all want to play, it's unfair and inefficient to let 10 people take up the entire court to the exclusion of everyone else. This should be a prominently visible posted rule in the court.

The water aerobics classes. Love Teresa - keeps us moving, and makes things fun. Also, Holly is a great teacher.
Adult swim class today was very fun and productive.
Sierra was full of energy and transmitted that to all of us. She was very encouraging and celebrated every little accomplishment which gave us more confidence in the water. Kayden was very respectful and gave us lots of tips to feel more comfortable and confident in the water. He paid very close attention as we swam and then told us what we needed to work on and also what we were successful at.
They both make a great team!!
Dustin's is really cool
IT IS A FRIENDLY PLACE, VERY CLEAN AND WELL MANAGED. EQUIPMENT IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND WELL MAINTQINED
What a wonderful resource for our community. Ability to have access so many different fitness classes, and fitness resources for all age groups is incredible!
There is an upbeat atmosphere. There are plenty of active lifeguards on duty at the pool. The equipment is clean.
The kids classes have really improved.
Our daughter takes swim lessons, and a year ago it felt like a constant rotation of swim instructors each session which is hard on the younger age groups. Now we're seeing the same instructors which adds consistency and my kid gets excited to go!
And the recent addition of "report cards" when the session ends is awesome! It helps us parents know where to focus and any next steps.

Convenient
Uuperior health facility. I have been a member since the beginning. My biggest complaint is gym etiquette or I should say lack of. I predominately use the machines. These type of machines (Nautilus when I began using them decades ago) were meant to be use as circuit training. What I see today is members sitting on machines for 5 -10 -15 minutes doing multiple sets. Worse than that is the use of cell phones for scrolling, texting... while individuals sit at the machines. When I have asked (politely) if they were done, I have seen individuals say no and continue to view their phones prior to continuing w/ their multiple sets. I have also witnessed on more than one occasion where individuals become defensive. I do not believe this should be the responsibility of members to control this, it should be that of staff. This issue has only gotten worse over the years. I would like to see this corrected. This is a gym/health facility. If individuals want to text, view tic-toc or play games on their phones they should do it elsewhere.Recommendation would be to have information at each individual machine that could be easily pointed out. Also, during member initiation, membership sign-up and during perspective member tours. I have also seen a decline in members not wiping down machines. I ask management to walk around through out the day and view this first hand.

Most times I can get into the pool between 3-4pm to exercise.😊
Pool, equipment available.
I visited 3/1/24 and I really liked everything that I saw. I was blown away at how much that the YMCA has to offer. The exercise equipment excellent as far as being new and being able to work all groups of muscles. It's really nice to have somewhere to walk that's nice and safe. I never expected so much in one place. Thank you.
