Excellent coaching staff.

I love the themes they have every week! They put in a play for all grades!! The counselors are top notch and my son looks forward to attending every year!

Our son is excited to get on the bus everyday and has had an enjoyable summer camp experience

My kids like the variety of activities and I like the hours for working parents.

I would like more communication about which counselors my kids are with and how their day is structured. My older child is a bit more communicative, but I have a younger child there and he is just learning the ropes. I encourage weekly communication via backpack or email that lists who the counselors for the week are, what we need to know for each age group that week, etc.

Also, there has been some discussion at home about the changing room protocol for boys. Kids need to be given more direction.

That being said, we are enjoying our summer and I have referred other families to the camp. But these communication issues consistently come up among new parents.

Both of my children are having a great summer! The counselors are all super friendly and engaging with the kids! They are enjoying the clubs (Dungeons and Dragons and Karaoke were a huge hit!). The kids enjoy all the many activities each day and the fun/friendly energy.

Can we please have Dungeons and Dragons again week 5 or 6 with Eric?

The daily ice cream is a fan favorite!

All of the staff is amazing, but a special shout out to: Paul, KiKi, Zach, Johan, Rachel, Eric, Evan, Julian, Sophie, Jamie and Maddie the lifeguard.

The different outdoor sports that my child is introduced to every summer. She looks forward to it. The counselors are very friendly. Also the swimming is a big plus!

The staff is phenomenal -- from front desk to trainers - all kind, friendly, personable. And likewise almost every member I've met. It's a comfortable environment!

West Essex YMCA has been my go to exercise home for over 40 years. I have friends who were exercising when I started and are still there. In fact, many of us look forward to seeing each other in our now Senior Classes! That is part of what keeps us coming because not only is the Y our home for keeping ourselves physically strong and healthy, it's also a place where friendships are made and last.
And what a pleasant greeting we receive when we walk in the door and check in. We are always greeted with a "Good Morning" and a big smile. For those of us who live alone due to the loss of a spouse, that greeting is a great way to feel welcome and begin our day!

The pool is great

Connor is very happy to be playing with his friends and being cared for by people he knows and trusts. He feels like a rock star. We appreciate that camp offers extended hours (before and after care).

Kids are having a good time, love it when they come home talking about cooking clases and showing us the crafts they made at camp.

Location is close to home and convenient. Most equipment are functional and maintained periodically. Plenty of classes. Nothing fancy bus lower cost.

Wonderfully friendly staff...fabulous water aerobics schedule---lots of programs to choose from---and lovely clientele.

Great senior classes.

My family and I have had only great experiences at the YMCA. We particularly love the Saturday morning swim sessions with Miss Lizzy. She is an exceptional instructor who always brings energy and enthusiasm to her classes. Her dedication and passion for teaching swimming have made our sessions truly enjoyable.

All the swim instructors at the YMCA are fantastic. They are professional, patient, and incredibly supportive, ensuring that every lesson is a positive experience. Thanks to them, swimming has become a wonderful and cherished activity for my daughters.

The YMCA provides a welcoming and safe environment, and we always look forward to our visits. We highly recommend the YMCA to anyone looking for quality swim instruction and a positive community experience.

The group fitness classes, especially in the morning. The instructors, all talented teachers, are personable and helpful.
