The facility is clean, the machines are well maintained, and the staff at the front desk are always welcoming and helpful even at 7am, my usual arrival time! And then there's Nathan, my extraordinary trainer whose skill, enthusiasm, and humor keep me coming. I love the Y. Only wish I had discovered it when I moved here 3 years ago.

I recommend Desert Foothills to everyone and anyone who is looking for a fitness experience. So many classes to choose from. Great training staff. Unbelievable price!

Friendly staff, lots of classes and overall facility
There is a good variety of group exercise programs that are geared to meet the needs of most everyone. The classes address seniors, handicapped, beginning exercisers, intermediate, advanced. The instructors are awesome. The classes are staggered to address many work schedules. Classes include water aerobics, cycling, strength training, yoga, pilates, dance, circuit training exercises, just to mention a few, There is a weight room that has a variety of equipment, including weights, treadmills, and there are trainers who offer assistance as needed. There are racquet ball courts, basketball, and pickleball. There is free child-care for infants toddlers, and other ages. There is free child care every once in a while for parents to have a "parent's night out". Transportation is provided to take students to several elementary schools. There are structured activities for kids, including games, a teen room, and other sports. The staff is extremely helpful to suggest activities to meet the needs and interests of members. The Y accepts most insurance plans, however the fees charged to others is reasonable. It is located next to the Holland Center which has a satellite campus of Paradise Valley Community College and a restaurant that offers snacks, drinks, sandwiches, and the like. This YMCA works in concert with the community and offers Health Fairs, carnival, holiday activities. I'm sure I only named a few of the offerings of this YMCA. It really does compare favorably with other gyms, but seems to go beyond. Oh, some of the classes are also available online, which gives members additional ways to participate.
Besides the obvious physical benefits of going to the Y, it is always nice to get a smiling face and nice greeting when checking in. The social benefits and friendships will last a lifetime. Okay, I am already old so it may not be that much time.
I enjoy the variety of classes and programs at this YMCA, and the trainers and staff here are wonderful.

Everything is great but the fans in the exercise room are too strong and blow right on you while you exercise and this is not comfortable for me but otherwise it is great.

The Y is just a great place to work out. There is a wide range of equipment spaced out in an organized manner. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is clean, light and cheerful. There are a wide array of classes that are very well attended.
