I love everything about the White Rock YMCA. In off hours the parking is abundant; during busy times there is additional street parking. The people working the reception desk are friendly and their warm greeting always brightens my day. Check-in is so fast & easy.
There is plenty of fitness equipment and I rarely have to wait for someone to finish a machine and the few times that I have; it was a short wait.
I like to work with free weights and even though I'm a little older and not as fit as some of the others working out in that area; I have always been made to feel welcome there. The trainers are always willing to answer questions about how a machine works or the benefits of a specific exercise.
I have yet to join a group fitness class; it's on my "to do" list. I have noticed a sense of camaraderie among the people who do classes together.
The YMCA offers a monthly blood drive which allows members to give back to the community in a quick and easy manner.
They also have many community outreach programs for youth, families and seniors, with volunteer positions. They support and engage with the community in a variety of different ways; including health and mental wellness programs, fitness programs, nutrition education, food distribution and workforce training and development.
It's nice to feel a part of something bigger!
Andrew and Tyler Are great to work it.
John is a great spin instructor. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
Being part of the community, meeting new people, fostering new skills and relationships for my child.
Friendly, great teachers who love what they do. Good equipment and good hours!
Clients, facilities, workers.
No music or big tvs
Our 5y and 3y boys did soccer this season with the YMCA and we loved it! Excellent organization 🥰
I love the White Rock YMCA. Instructors/classes are excellent. I wish we could bring back the step/sculpt class, (in addition to the existing step class).
My biggest negative is the parking experience which can be extremely difficult at times, and a disaster on busy days when activities are going on.
The pollinator garden is a joy to behold and puts a smile on my face every time I pass by.
I love the classes and the sense of community and the friends I have made. The Y plays an important role in my physical, emotional and mental health.
The classes. Wish you offered more strength training slots.
Value for money. Great activities for the family even outside of the gym.
The quality of childcare is phenomenal. They remember my kids names and play outside. This past week they made an apple pie out of paper for Thanksgiving. I also appreciate how challenging the excercise classes are. I'm stronger than I was in high school! And look forward to them.
friendliness
Very professionally organized and run soccer league. The kids I coached had fun!
Grateful for the Y -- It's a go-to place for me and makes many kinds of fitness and self care possible!
The classes and instructors are great!
I like the rope wall in yoga.
Small suggestion: I wish it were easier to get a quick explanation of how to use technology and some of the new machines (like best way to make the TV and apps work, ways to get audio as you ride, etc... ) I either missed that or it was never done.
I appreciate the good coffee!
Thanks to all who keep this wonderful community center thriving!
Welcoming, Friendly, Clean, Diverse OAO Class Options, Affordable. I am very thankful.
It feels very welcoming.
I love my yoga classes with Marge!
She is a wonderful teacher and takes time to explain and help us with poses.
Great group of people in the class.
Facility is nice and well kept!
Friendly staff, cleanliness, low temperature in work out areas, excellent equipment, nice bathrooms
Awesome staff, kid watch, and gym equipment
Kristi is a great instructor for us seniors. The facility is immaculate. Great options for fitness classes. .
Location helps greatly. My Dallas workplace changed. Thanks to the local Y membership that now works in all Dallas facilities, I can use the White Rock Y with the same membership. I also appreciate the available blood pressure monitor, and the coffee maker.
In additional, I'm glad you've posted signs at some machines urging users to kindly exercise and move to another machine or let others use it instead of ...just sitting there - like it's a park bench while texting. It's not a park bench, but a work bench.
The Y is a GREAT place for so many reasons. It has an excellent staff and amazing instructors. The monthly membership is perfect. The area is so convenient. The people I have met over the years have become good friends. It is well maintained. There is NOTHING I could say that would be on the negative side!!! We are very fortunate to have this place available every day of the week, and I will continue to be a member forever!
I like the atmosphere in the gym. It is very senior citizen friendly and has activities for us. The staff are friendly and willing to answer questions. You can purchase sessions with a person trainer and mine was very good and ensured that I was doing the exercises correctly.
Open and appealing building environment, cleanliness, quality and breadth of equipment, classes and services, great instructors, personal trainers and staff
Staff is very courteous, facilities are very clean and a good place to workout.
The endless program options they have to offer for adults and kids. How much they care for families like mines. We rely on financial help program, and it has helped us continue be apart of the YMCA family. Thank you so much!
