This YMCA reminds me of the fitness centers my dad used to take me to as a kid (University Racquetball Club, Deer Lake) It's clean, the facilities are excellent, everyone from the staff to the members are extremely friendly and non-invasive. I always have a great experience.
I love the available hours, the cleanliness, the staff, and many of the members at this specific YMCA location. I always appreciate the welcoming attitude from staff members and their willingness to help whenever in need. I love the yoga classes in the morning on Wednesdays with Tom. I also appreciate the 24/7 gym access room and the equipment available in there. I have had to opportunity to speak with the CEO, Steve, a few times a this YMCA and I feel appreciated and valued as a member. Lindsey at the front desk is also the best and is an awesome resource at the YMCA. Most importantly, I believe the community engagement is fantastic at this YMCA location and I’m very glad to see how much work their staff is doing to stay connected and up-to-date with the community of Bay City.
Great instructors, my son did strength and conditioning with coach G, who was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and worked very well with the kids. Coach Jimmy for basketball is an exceptional coach, his knowledge of basketball and how to get through to the kids is amazing.
The facility is very clean and well kept. The weight room equipment is nice, even though there could be more additions added.
It is a great place to go and have fun. Tons of opportunities for all ages.
Staff is friendly and there are lots of things you can do for fitness.
I enjoy each day that I attend the DBAFY. The staff is friendly and helpful. The equipment is always clean and in working order. And I've had the great honor of meeting and making friends with so many nice people.
The weight equipment is excellent.
The sauna is excellent.
The 24 Hour fitness area is excellent.
TVs are nice.
Water filters on water fountains are a huge plus.
Love that you don't have to pay extra to enjoy pool and other classes. Very friendly people. Because it is Christian based it's good for children no swearing. Been going for 10years. Great for us seniors.

Cleanliness. I have had a couple instances where I felt a bit harassed by staff. Was considering aqua aerobics. The cart with the aerobics equipment was by the slide so my grandson and I thought we would try them out. We both were doing great, but the lifeguard came over and told us we had to put them back. They were only for the ppl taking the class. I don’t agree with that. Although I understand they are not pool toys, another older woman was using them too. She had already left the pool. I think it was because my grandson was using them with me. Another instance was during basketball camp. You had an older gentleman that worked in the weight area. He approached me every visit and would not stop talking. I started to just ignore him while working out on the equipment. But when the boys were participating in the basketball camp, he yelled at my grandson and made him cry, This man was not even a part of the basketball camp. Why he was on the basketball court and humiliated my grandson was very upsetting. I did tell this man it was the job of his parents to teach him manners. Of course he approached me while I was in the stands watching and began talking. I could not escape him. I paid for a year and it baca me too uncomfortable to visit. I was hoping this time he would not be there and am paying monthly now just in case. This time around I had an older male staff come up to me after getting off the treadmill on the side of the basketball court asking me if I wanted the spray bottle and the one rag he was holding and already using. Looking at me like it was wrong to not clean it. I told him no thanks. There are no rags in those areas. And I am not using one that he has already been using. I felt like he was condescending.
It’s close to my home, the hours are great, the staff are friendly, and I’m never waiting for equipment.
Love the senior exercise classes offered. Makers you move & stay alerts. Also pool & walking track is a great way to motivate you for the day.
The staff is friendly and I always feel comfortable working out. The track is wonderful anytime but really awesome to use when it’s too cold or too hot outside.
I’m a fan of the steam room. I haven’t been to a gym with a steam room. Nice perk!

Group exercises
My favorite thing about the Y are the group classes. It becomes a source of accountability and friendship.
NO cell phones while on ANY of the workout machines. DO something about this.
Also how are certain vehicles allowed to take 2 parking spots. Specifically a yellow corvette……….

Great environment
We have found the Y a great place to enjoy both the early morning 24/7 room. Then off too many other activities from walking track, exercise stations and the courts. The pool. Hot tub , steam room and then off to the shower help start our day.
I love the classes here! The instructors are fantastic, always pushing me to be my best and the people I've met have been amazing and have given me such a strong community!
The staff treat you like a member of the family, always ready to answer. Any questions you may have.
