Everything. It is a tremendous facility that is welcoming and enjoyable. It is a wonderful part of our community.
The group fitness classes and the clean facility. However I often smell weed and it kind of makes me feel nauseated before working out. Many members have said the same thing about the hallway and locker rooms. I realize you cannot control that but maybe some type of air freshener down rhat hallway and in the locker rooms would help.
The staff are always friendly and encouraging and this makes you want to go back for more! There is not one day that I don’t see a staff person cleaning or helping a member. The equipment is in good shape and I like the new setup upstairs! The indoor track is awesome, you can make new friends while working on your walk! I love the idea of being able to invite someone to go with you on “bring a friend Friday” twice a month, what a great idea. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who work hard everyday, you are awesome❤️

The employees and classes are great. We enjoy coming to work out.
The Y is well run with giving younger individuals a chance to learn at various job. It is kept very clean both inside and outside with maintenance needs taken care of. I like all the programs for youngsters and they get a balanced meal while at the Y. It also seems to be a great place for older individuals to meet as they help keep their muscles toned.

I like the staff, they are all kind and friendly. I would like to give a shot out to Karen my water aerobics teacher. She keeps the class fun and entertaining while exercising and time flies by fast.
The staff are all friendly and helpful. The trainers are very knowledgeable about the exercise equipment and great at showing people how to use the different pieces.

What I like most about my experience at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA is the welcoming and community-focused environment. It feels like a place where people of all ages and fitness levels are supported and encouraged, which makes it easy to stay motivated and consistent.
I also appreciate the variety of programs and equipment available. Whether it’s group fitness classes, wellness programs, or just access to a clean and well-maintained facility, there’s always something that fits my needs and keeps things interesting.
Another highlight is the friendly and helpful staff. They make a big difference by creating a positive atmosphere and being available whenever I need guidance or assistance.
Overall, the YMCA stands out not just as a gym, but as a community space that promotes health, connection, and personal growth.

Convenient hours
Very spacious and wonderful layout! Could have a little more with regard to cleaning stations for the weightlifting area but otherwise very pleased so far!
The available equipment to get a full body workout is fantastic. Open hours are very accommodating. Appreciate the cleanliness of everything. Only complaint is about people that sit on equipment with their phones. May be interval training but unfair to others that want to use the equipment.
