You dont properly blend a fade like a barber shop can

My son (15) has struggled with finding someone to cut his hair the way he wanted. He finally found that a month ago at this location. He was assured by the stylist that she had "saved" everything in the system and anyone who cut his hair going forward would know exactly what to do. That, unfortunately, did not happen this time. The front was cut too short, the top and back were not cut at all. The sides were uneven. My son has aspergers and is hesitant when pointing out issues to adults in these settings, so he didn't say anything until we got home. Now I realize it's just hair and will grow out and a cut from now this will all be a memory, if that. But, for him it created another instance that he couldn't navigate a situation that most people could.

I have been a long time customer and now I have started to bring my son. That being said, I am tired of the price for a kids hair cut. Also, my past experience has left me with a sour taste. The stylist cutting my son’s hair was reckless and not very good.
I have already started looking for other hair cut places.
