The pool, the gym, the camp and some of the kids sessions.
Love the triathalon club!!
They r the best
I love the morning water exercise classes. However the Tuesday Wednesday class is a bit weak.
I'm enjoying the pickle ball classes and league run by Tina. She's the best!

The pickle ball lessons have been a lot of fun. Attendees have been friendly; instructor has been kind, patient and instructional; space has been ample despite the disruption caused by the construction.
The Casual Fun 12-2 drop in on Tuesdays have also been fun for all the same reasons as mentioned above. Most importantly the attendees have been very friendly and welcoming to newcomers.
Great instructors, routines and friendly members
We have been very happy with the many sessions of swim we have done. My son loves it and we think it's great value for the cost.
They help me a lot and also keep me busy
I like the Aqua Stretch classes 3 afternoons per week at the newly renovated Melrose YMCA. I have made friends there & we are a great group, like a community.
Our instructor recently fell ill & is recovering stii, but Roubins, the manager of aquatics stepped up & has been our instructor for weeks now. He has been very committed to our group; a majority of senior citizens.
Also, the pool & pool area is very clean with a new sauna right off the pool deck.
In general we have had a great experience. I would like to see a little more consistency with expectations for the preschool level courses. (encouraging students to try things in the water by themselves to help them acheive skills, givng progress reports) I would like to see the swim lesson coordinators/managers observing lessons more, managing expectations.
Classes are great, Roubins is great, he helped us throw a great birthday for our kid. This Y has a some serious issues, but the Aquatics program is a real bright spot.
I love the warm atmosphere of the water fitness activities. The instructor is encouraging and the pool is a great benefit to have access to.
My son is doing the strength training with Danny on Saturday mornings and he loves it. Hoping he will have more opportunities like this at the Y.
Excellent instructions who are actively involved in the class.
The instructors and the other peopld
Initially what brought me to the Melrose Y was the variety of classes I could take as an older adult. Classes and instructors are very inclusive and I love the variety. It's very rare to find a class offering every day at other fitness facilities and the Y has multiple of these classes on a daily basis. I'm very excited about the opening of the new gym and studio on the second floor - it's such a beautiful new space and again, there's something for all fitness levels. Oh and I can't leave out the most important part - the instructors and staff are the best! Thank you to all.
Rubens the best
I love it
Coach Alec is amazing. He is very dedicated to teaching and guiding kids through any sport he is coaching.
The community feel
The instructors are also nice!
We use the kid watch on Saturdays and it’s wonderful, the caregivers are so sweet and kind. I just wish kid watch was available Sundays
Rubin is wonderful with my son!
Stephanie is great! She makes the 6 am class! Her boundless energy and her ability to make everyone feel welcome are her superpowers! And her workouts are just right, all the time. She’s a keeper!
Great energy! Great staff
I enjoy the free weights, swimming, sauna and the staff is super friendly. Not to mention the Melrose YMCA is always very clean, which makes it very comfortable in the locker rooms.
The programs are run by a great staff.
I wish there were a few more Yoga classes available after 5 for those of us that have to work during the day.
I have been attending the aerobics class for many years an our Instructor Kay makes it work with music and friendly companionship for every one in the group.
I like going between the Saugus Y and the Melrose Y
I'm new to the Y so I just do the fit classes so far , and have tried Zumba Gold. which is fun but rather challenging for me at 67. I have had a tour of the equipment and doubt that i will be using it. I prefer going to a class with a group. Also tried the Yoga once, was ok. One thing I wish could be improved is too many people in some classes. it makes it hard for me to see the instructor. Which for you is a good thing
