John Boomhower was my small group personal trainer during the Fall of 2025. John is knowledgeable, caring and his workout designs were perfect for me. I have purchased more training sessions with John and recommend him to my friends.
Pleasant people at desk always smiling and helping with sign-in etc. Carl’s is very clean including restrooms. The workout areas (2) are fantastic with all new machines. And an abundance of classes to sign-up for for all age groups. And a children’s activities like camp during the summer months, swim lessons! You’ll just have to come to Carls to check it all out!

I love the variety and schedule of the classes at the Y.
I do have some concerns about participants who are not the most respectful of fellow participants and the instructor. In particular, I am enrolled in 3 Water Aerobic classes (two with Jennifer and one with Kyne). There are people who talk throughout the entire class, making it difficult to hear the instructor. As an instructor (in Health Care) myself, I understand the challenges for these instructors - but as a participant - I find it very annoying. I have turned to some and said "it's really hard to hear today," but that did not stop the conversations. I would stop my classes while we "waited for everyone to finish their conversations" and that helped. I don't want to call anyone out - but it is VERY frustrating as a participant. I understand the need for social interaction, but before or after class (or even at lunch afterward) would be more appropriate.

First the people. The staff is friendly and very helpful . They have so many different
programs, everyone can find something they like. My number one thing I love the best is the people I have met there. I have made so many new friends. The YMCA supports you physically and socially.

Lisa is very creative and does a great job at making our work out productive and fun.
I would recommend Mondays Zumba class. The instructor gives you a great workout. Tuesday is fine as well. Wednesday's class used to be the best but those instructors are no longer teaching. The new instructor does a very, very lite impact workout if that's your thing. I recommend Monday and Tuesday classes.

Xavier is wonderful! He never pushes too hard but the exercises he gives are tailored to my needs and abilities. I am really feeling results!
