Great people and fun classes.
I like the variety of options for exercise. Recently had knee replacement and had to cut back on some of the more vigorous aerobic activities, but other options were available until I’m healed enough to return to more intense activities.
Also, the staff and other members are quite friendly.
I take the water aerobics class with Lisa and it is very good. I get a good workout and she is knowledgeable.
Great facilities and friendly people, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
I like the upstairs walking path. Walking is good for you and I am told to do a lot of it by my doctor.
The classes and instructors . I take the water arobics classes. Everyone is very friendly. They greet you when you come and go and seem genuinely glad you are there.

The swimming instructors at the Farmington YMCA are so incredibly good. Lisa and Georgie are exceptional teachers.
Community and quality group classes
The Facility where I Speed Walk is very nice. The Staff is always friendly and helpful, if I have any questions regarding upcoming events, etc.
I love the sense of community I have from the Y. Not only do I get a great workout in with all of the available equipment and classes, but I feel connected to the other Y members, Y staff, and larger Detroit community through supporting and joining such a great organization.

I have only been to a few lessons in the Aqua Fit class but they are well suited to my schedule (daytime) and my needs (moderate exercise in the water for strength and stamina). I hope to build to doing laps.
Good experience. People were very friendly and great spread of food at the end of the race. There were plenty of volunteers. Only feedback I have is it would be great if you emailed the results of everyone. Other than that I have no complaints.

What I love most are the classes, especially BodyPump and Cycle. As someone new to the gym, they help me get comfortable with the form and technique of working out properly. Plus, they create a really friendly and social atmosphere!

Schedule and class
My son is learning to swim so fast, Miss Maggie is the absolute best. He's going to be water safe before I know it and I owe it all to her!
Lisa M is an amazing instructor. She is patient, caring, and very informative. I look forward to her Aqua Easy Does It class and really miss it when I am unable to attend. Unfortunately, the theraputic pool's temperature is inconsistent. I have arthritis, and need the warmer water to soothe my joints. I never know if it will be soothing or (painfully) cold. I wish it were more consistent.
I love the community and all the classes/instructors. A comfortable place to do your workout.
