Great environment. Feels safe and inclusive and all age groups represented. Facility is in great shape and close to home so I will be less apt to skip workouts. Love the facility too and how well it's run.
I participate in the Active Older Adults exercise class at the South Oakland branch and I am very happy with it. The class is challenging yet very appropriate for our age group. The only thing I would add to improve the class is to have a larger space or a smaller class
The ladies at the desk are friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoy the group classes and instructors. I would like to see Zumba or dance classes to be offered in the evening . I would also like to see Body Combat offered 2 evenings a week.
The Farmington Y is conveniently located, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the facility is kept clean. I enjoy the wellness group classes, especially the ones taught by Lyn. She is an exceptional instructor.
Great place, comfortable atmosphere. Remind members to wipe down equipment after use and stay home if coughing or feeling sick.

Ease of machine usage in gym
This facility allows me to be apart of The Silver Sneakers, The instructors they have are Great!! I also love the welcoming of YOUTHS of all ages, The Y has enormous activities that challenges their adventurous minds!! Also the fact the Y has a pool and a Scheduled water aerobics itenary! I also am grateful that my Grandson has a membership and he soars to the BASKETBALL š COURT!! The Y is CLEANED, SAFE the staff are respectful and on their watch!!! I appreciate the Y being at the ā¤ļø of Downtown Detroit! My only issue is the parking š....but overall I love coming to the Y...
Recommend the gym area and the physical therapy areas quite a few times to people needing help.

I liked it,, I couldnāt find the ellipticalās ,,,,the southgate YMCA has lots of spray bottles to use compared to only a few there,,
Classes offered
so many things for the kids to try out and get involved with.
The instructor is patient and knowledgeable. You can tell she is passionate about her job.
The swim classes have been great. Rachel has been a very thorough and engaging instructor. The women's locker room, shower and sauna is lore spacious than royal oak. The front desk staff are very welcoming.
The Silver Sneakers classes held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays as well as the walking path on the second floor.
Also, all the Senior Instructors have been great!
