YMCA plaistow gymnastics department is exceptional! my children and I love all the staff, the teachers are so kind, helpful and patient. Lindsey the gymnastics director has been amazing as a teacher, responding to all my email questions and so helpful in getting my two younger children signed up for classes. My kiddos listening skills, following directions and strength have greatly increased since their first session back in the fall. I highly recommend signing your children up for classes!

We absolutely love our local YMCA! It’s been such a positive experience for both my kids and me. My 6-year-old is obsessed with her gymnastics class, and my 2-year-old lights up every time we go to the toddler and parent class that is included in our family membership! Mrs. Lindsey is amazing with the little ones and truly makes it fun.

The events the Y puts on throughout the year are always a hit, and open gym has become the talk of the house.. it’s a daily highlight for my kids! On a personal note, I’ve really appreciated the fitness classes. Spin class with Maggie is my favorite! Being able to work out while my kids are safe and having fun has been incredible for both my physical and mental health.

I only wish I had joined sooner!

I love excellent guidance. That’s called good leadership. And you have that in your fit for life Director, Wendy Takesian.
She takes the time for each of us as a class or individually. When I leave her class, I feel stronger the rest of the day. She rules with her heart, and we all could use more of that. Some people could follow by example!
She’s certainly a hard act to follow. You need more people like her.

The people who run the Y and work there are very friendly and helpful.

Because we have been very happy with our experience here. The instructors are very knowledgeable and very cautious with us for the most part. I very much appreciate the range of classes offered. The people who use the Y for the most part are extremely friendly and fun to be with. And, we live in Plaistow so it’s very convenient.

Love our family membership

Friendly staff, excellent pickle ball - 3 designated open courts. Great classes with instructors that make the classes very enjoyable. The facility is clean and recently renovated many of the areas.

Facilites are good and staff is great. Especially Sue who greets me every morning. She knows every member by name and offers a unique customer friendly experience. She is a gem. Wendy too.
Only issue is the poor condition of a couple pickleball nets. One is completely broken and another has a broken middle post. Been like this for a while, really needs replacement.
Insufficent number of pickleballs has been an issue at times as well.

The staff at any Plaistow YMCA program my daughter has attended are kind, attentive, and respectful of children and their families. My daughter loves going and I feel safe that she is being well taken care of while she is there.
