I have taken aqua exercise & stretch classes for 11 years, when I retired in 2011.We moved away from neighborhood, closer to Trotter, but I continue to enjoy Weekley pool and classes with my friends there. During pandemic I was so grateful for outdoor pools at Weekley, Trotter, and Foster.
The people who work there and the people who come to the activities that I enjoy.
Although I mainly use the pool and some Zumba classes, I am impressed by the wide variety of programs offered for people of all ages. The vibrant atmosphere makes it a positive and uplifting place to be. I describe it to others as "a hotbed of activity."
I would like to commend and thank profusely those who decided to open the pool for lap swimming (and later water exercise) during the early months of the pandemic shutdown. For me and many others who took advantage of this opportunity, it was the highlight of our days and kept us sane during that crazy time.

New opening hours, given more flexible time to walk in and exercise.
varied classes nice staff and teachers
Variety of programs offered. Great facility. Cost very reasonable. Parking easy. Staff friendly and helpful.
I really enjoy the ForeverWell program. Also the upstairs equipment as well, like how the machines are programmed to each individual. Mexican train is one of my favorites so do that on Monday and Wednesday. Birthday bingo and pizza is over the top, so much fun!! Thanks for all you do!!
Easy access to my home. Clean. Almost all the equipment I need.
provides what I need..
quality and variety, good facility.
I recently rejoined that Weekley YMCA after several months away. On my first day back, a very friendly employee got me setup on the e-gym circuit, which I had never paid attention to in the past. It's very cool and I was impressed at how patiently he went through all the adjustments and strength test.
On my second day back, I went to the 7am gentle stretch class and it was lovely. I am the youngest person in that class by a few decades, but all of the other attendees are very friendly and helpful. Halimah always provides varying levels of difficultly for those of us that want/are able to scale things up. It's a wonderful class to take every Tues/Thurs on rest days.
Great staff. Activities for everyone and anyone.
Spinning with Julie and the fitness Center
Exercise classes are geared for seniors. Enjoy senior activities and programs being offered. Elena Dinkin does an excellent job!
The variety of programs- there is something for everyone. The programs help to create a community where everyone feels included. We look forward to going to the YMCA to workout and to have fun!
My Son enjoys outdoor pool, instead of inside. Hope to enroll in teen programs this summer
I love the gym. It’s a good size & has all the necessary equipment for a great workout. The ladies @ the front desk are also nice.
Nice place good service likeable members
The entire community of the YMCA engages in wonderful daily activities that brings everyone together.
My wife and I both really love the fact that the YMCA is a family based club that has the foundation centered around God’s Word.
You have really good instructors, especially, Lisa Turner. She is absolutely the best I have ever encountered! She does it all. Can't say enough about her. Please do not ever allow her to leave!
Having said that, the staff upstairs isn't overwhelming. The younger ones generally don't do much but look at their phones. I have asked/complained several times about a member that comes in from the pool, is still wet and has open toed shoes (flip-flops) on. None of your staff is willing to address these kinds or other rule breakers. In the afternoon, one of your young "trainers" (Hispanic with curly hair and glasses) is always just yuking it up with young members or flirting with girls. He happens to be the one who always parks close to the bldg., where an older, less mobile member should be parking.
Not sure how it would be possible but having some kind of notice on your website that shows whether the pool is open or not would be fabulous. This would allow members to know whether to make the drive in or not.
The front desk staff is generally friendly and helpful. I really appreciate Ladasha's friendly attitude.
Yoga is my favorite class. However, a couple of the SUBS don’t do yoga classes. They ask “what we want?”
This isn’t why we are there. We aren’t there to concentrate on one person’s issue, or stay on our hands and knees for 40 min straight. These are good people but they don’t give us the structure we have come to expect from a yoga class.
Gloria is an excellent sub - no complaints.
Duane is a very good instructor, as are Olga, and Monique. I usually attend mid day classes so those are the instructors I’m familiar with.
Pickleball. We love the game and we have brought our friends to the Y to play
Very nice machines
Great classes
Clean facilities and not too crowded. I like that there is a Y near where I work and another one near my house.
variety and frequency of classes
Good variety. Would like more stretching classes for older adults.
Staff and facility are very good.

Great instructors, class content. Routines periodically change which keeps things fresh. Facilities clean and in good repair. Staff and management seem to have our best interests in mind.
