Field trips and friendly staff
Good hours, engagement with kids and a safe environment.
I don't know when you will stop allowing people to reserve lap lanes, but it is great! It would be wonderful if it could continue for the foreseeable future.

I like it that I know the aquatics director, Justine, and the guards up at Norton Commons Y. They look out for us, listen to us when we make requests.
As a serious lap swimmer, the pool is best kept at 78-80 degrees and Justine tries to hit the middle with about 79! She does a great job! Lately, the temps been a little warmer so cooling it would be great.
It would be nice to get a US Masters Swim program started at Norton Commons or for that matter, with the Greater Louisville YMCA. There are several of us who are interested (I'm a US Masters registered swimmer and like working out at the Y).
I love my Y and am happy to now be able to use my membership outside of Kentucky too...was able to recently go into an Asheville branch I use as well as one in central FL.

The Norton Commons facility is nice, clean and has great amenities such as the indoor pool providing kids activity even if it’s cool or raining. I also like the fact that they have inflatable recreational structures outside to play with on certain days and I’m really glad that they are doing field trips again once a week! It’s also great that every week has a different theme. The Y staff at the Norton Commons Y location are fantastic, as they are very friendly and accommodating. I’m specifically impressed with Kathryn Gilene, the Director, as she has been more than understanding with specific needs for our child and we are so very grateful and she has been very accommodating and making sure that our child and the kids are doing well and having fun in the best way possible.

I really enjoy Kathy Mullaney’s classes. She is so personable, enthusiastic and caring. I would recommend her classes to anyone needing incentive to get started…she makes exercising fun!
