Only been once. I am a member in Williamsburg. Taking a class with a friend at the Yorktown location. Love the water aerobics instructor at 9:30am.
The YMCA offers a welcoming and friendly atmosphere where everyone knows your name as soon as you walk in. Hope Lowe's Sprint 8 class is outstanding—she’s an incredible motivator who keeps you pushing forward with enthusiasm. The staff is amazing, always friendly, and eager to help, making every visit a great experience! Highly recommend!

Have nice workout music , helpful staff , location is historic & 6 minutes from my home .

Weight machines are too busy because people sit on them in between sets. Start encouraging people to work each other in. Signs aren’t enough
I started chair yoga and love it! Wish there were more classes. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
Instructors were very knowledgeable and patient. My children's swimming abilities improved drastically over the session. We could not be more pleased
The engagement Chloe has with my 5 year old. She uses all the time of the 30 minute lesson well. Keeps my daughter interested, excited, and learning. She always has a smile on her face and communicates well!
Great instructional team
All of the instructors and staff were incredibly kind, attentive, flexible, and helpful. My daughter was incredibly hesitant to participate with her class, but despite this and her nervousness around new people, Ms Andrea managed to quickly establish rapport that allowed my daughter to feel safe with her (in and out of the water). Watching Ms Andrea with all of her students, she calmly talked each child through what they were doing, pushed each child to their potential in that moment, and made the children feel secure. Despite my daughter protesting swim lessons while waiting on the side of the pool, she still felt comfortable enough to reach toward Ms Andrea in the pool to join her in those moments. When I expressed my concerns via email about how to proceed after a particularly hard class, Ms Julie was incredibly receptive and offered solutions to help meet our daughter’s needs, while not judging and leaving the decision up to our family. Ms Julie was also observed to sit on the side of the pool with the children one day where several were upset and Ms Andrea needed more assistance to manage. As a professional who works with children myself, it was nice to see someone who had the patience and skills to calmly redirect the children’s attempts to leave the pool while also acknowledging their fears and gently nudging them to do a little bit more (but adapting when they became more upset). Everyone we encountered for swim lessons at this Y did a great job of trying different strategies to get my daughter to participate and feel comfortable. I can’t express my gratitude enough. We are taking a little break for now, but when we are ready to return to swim, we will certainly be coming back to this Y! Please share my feedback with the team as I am incredibly grateful for them.
Debbie was very nice and patient. She also work around my schedule when needed. I hope to have more lessons with her in the future.
