Most accommodating and service oriented ski shop… Steamboat Ski and Bike Kare is THE BEST. I needed new ski boots after a bad fall rendered my ankle a mess (reconstruction consisted of one gasket and 11 screws around my calcaneus). My right ankle now had what looked like two ankle bones. Boot fitting was a necessity although I was skeptical it’d work and my skiing career was over.
My fitting started with MJ in a late Sunday afternoon and continued Monday morning downtown with Harry (shop owner). After assessing my ankle, arch, instep etc. Harry found the shell that would work. After custom boot beds were made, punching out where the bone protruded, and heat fitting my liners I headed to the slopes. After a couple runs I decided to stop by the ‘on mountain’ shop and had Brendon punch out the shell a bit more. The next day these boots fit perfectly, no pressure points and a fit that made my carving effortless and enjoyable. I can’t say enough about the entire staff at Steamboat Ski and Bike Kate. 10 ⭐️

Awesome bootfitters. MJ is the best. Not only is he incredibly good and knowledgeable, he's patient. Brendan is also great. I've been skiing for decades and have had several pairs of boots and custom footbeds. The footbed and boot fitting at SS&BK is excellent. Even as a long time skier, I learned a lot about my boots and my boot fit. One of the big reasons I schedule to ski at Steamboat is to visit SS&BK for boot work or purchase. It's always a most pleasant experience.

Every time I have rented equipment there has been good attention to detail. As a beginning skier it is very intimedating walking in to rent equipment. My knowledge level is low and the staff have always made sure that I was comfortable with the equipment before I walked out the door.
Also, being able to hold onto the equipment for 24hrs on a one day rental keeps me coming back. Being that I’m not wealthy and can only get time in the afternoon to pick up the equipment and return it the following afternoon will keep me coming back and I would definitely recommend Steamboat Kare to anyone looking to rent equipment.
