Of the many things we like, the kid watching area is the best. This is the first YMCA or gym at all that our kids have looked forward to going to.
Convenience of location, staff, facilities.
Very friendly place for seniors.
They work! And we are all like a family.
There are a variety of classes, so everyone has choices! The staff are wonderful!!!
There are programs for all ages with many offerings throughout the day from early morning to evening. The instructors are knowledgeable, care personally and are encouraging, reminding us to participate according to our individual fitness needs and abilities on any given day.
The YMCA is truly a caring place of community!
I go 4/7 days a week and I always feel welcomed and have a great time at the gym
I mostly use the fitness equipment but appreciate all the Y does for the community and how you make it accessible for those with less financial means - which was me at one time!
Variety and frequency
Large variety of things to do, friendly staff very helpful

The instructors are easy to work with and give off their best to motivate and encourage me
Wide selection available for all ages and levels family oriented
A nice variety of classes
The YMCA is a great place. The only things I would change are the times. It would be nice if they stayed open later on Saturday and Sunday.
AOA is a great class. Love the Nina the instructor
Large variety to choose from so there is something for all ages. Staff is excellent
Spin cycle
Track
Weight and band toning
The AOA class is challenging but fun. The Stretch Yoga ( aka: chair yoga) is relaxing and improves flexibility. My happy place is swimming laps in the pool.
Great facility and staff.
Walking track, exercise classes
Great, fun and open workout area. Locker and sauna very good, but steam would be much better if it stayed hot.
Zumba, volleyball.
Classes are outstanding..People at front desk are great.Workout areas are keep clean. Music is good. I use to go to the mens steam room every day at 9:30 . Man in there everyday from 9 to 10:30 . He places cold towels on the sensor above the door . The room gets overheated . This in the past causes the basement controls to overwork and the system not to work as designed. When this happens, new parts have to be installed and the unit can be down for several weeks. Manager knows about this but says it’s up to Chattanooga to make the call. Sensor needs to be on the ceiling so no cold rags can be installed.. Sign on door says (please no not place cold paper towels on sensor.) Please catch the man and have him barred for weeks. He’s using this to loose weight and stands on the scale with wet feet and water everywhere. Please help I’m loose patience and afraid I’ll do something. Don’t just take my word.
Lots of options
Exercise room
Lots of options for classes and great instructors
They have plenty of activities for the family and I also love the member events they do. Great place to belong to.
I love the group fitness classes and the special programs - like LiveStrong for cancer survivors and Pedaling for Parkinson’s and Rock Steady boxing.
Classes are wonderful. Each trainer brings enthusiasm 0nd skill to class.
