The pool and Wellness Center and BB courts
The instructors are awesome!!!
Enjoy the Y very much. I attended the senior exercises.
something for all ages
We love the variety. I can do my dance class several days a week. My children can swim, while my husband can use the weight machines and treadmill. Something for everyone.
All new equipment is amazing. Management and complete staff could not be better.
As a Senior I am pleased with the classes.
My wife and I love the 'Y'. If it wasn't for this wonderful facility I wouldn't be properly trained for the Ironman on May 19, '24. The Masters swim coach Zac Adams has an ace workout ethic that strains my body to the core. I went from no swimming in 50 years to 1.5 miles 3 months later at a decent pace. Spin coaches, Tina, Jen and Stephanie are task masters, but kind and friendly. We LOVE the Lifecycle treadmills and weight machines, all of which are new. The staff are friendly, always welcoming. The family plan recognizes LGBTQ+ people and so far, no problems. Best workout place I've ever been to, and I've been to plenty.
Really enjoy the seniors classes. These help keep us going and are a big help with maintaining strength and balance. Also love the people who work there - they are very nice, friendly and welcoming!!!
Free weights, machines.
Love the indoor pickleball!
Love the classes.. they help to keep me on tract!
There is something for everyone! There is so much more than just classes! They are invested in the community
Absolutely love our silver fitness class.
Staff is so nice. I have made lots of long time friends in this class.
Love the lap lanes in the pool. Some days you need more than 2. A consistent 3 or 4 would be great!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, exercise equipment is well maintained and replaced with new and improved equipment on a timely basis. Building is always clean and well maintained.
Group fitness
Friendly staff.
The People: staff, instructors, members. All make for a true community atmosphere. I participate in several classes, and I thoroughly enjoy them. Being a member of the Y and taking part in much of what it has to offer has not only improved my physical well being, but my mental and social health as well.
My only suggestion pertains to the class descriptions. I would like to see more thorough descriptions with regards to level of difficulty. Those labeled senior are obvious, but it would be nice to know how hard a class is before I attend only to find out it's too much.
I like Claryn and Tina's class for cardio, and music to go with it, also enjoy the free coffee lol, especially this cold weather.
Clean facilities and very courteous staff! I wish there was an old school step aerobics class offered nut that is my only complaint.
Very good
The Hamilton Y offers so many senior classes at a variety of times that is a great benefit for all who want to participate. The instructors (& particularly Tina whose Mon, Wed, Fri 11:15 class I always attend) gear the classes to our needs and continually alter them to keep us improving & moving forward with our exercise program and brain function - as she changes the routine regularly. The Friday 10:00 AM Seniors Yoga class led by Madeline (Maddie) is excellent as she plans every class thoroughly for stretching and positions that can be accomplished sitting or near our chair. I also attend Kim's Tai Chi class on Tues/Thurs & this has been a great addition to the class offerings. Tai Chi is an excellent class for movement, balance and breathing techniques that is presented in an easy to follow class by Kim that can be carried out in your daily routine at home - I have thoroughly enjoyed it. All of the staff from front desk to maintenance are so polite and helpful if needed or asked a question. Linda (who I have gotten to know as our schedules seems to bump when I leave class in the ladies room when she is cleaning) is so pleasant & I see her taking the time to thoroughly clean the bathroom facility. The Y is always so clean & that is a good feeling when being there - Thank You for a Great Job for the members!
Lap swimming hours are great
Pool, yoga classes, trips
My favorite aspects of the downtown YMCA are the variety of classes that are offered, the multiple spaces throughout the building to work out and the sauna! I also appreciate the layout of the spaces which allows many people to be working out at the same time and it doesn’t feel over crowded. The whole building is always so well kept and you’re consistently greeted with a smile.
Lots of activities for kids, a variety of classes for myself, and the trainers & staff are awesome
The instructors and how much better I feel after class.
I like the instructors who lead my classes. I hope they are paid well!
Everything
I would rather have 45 minute classes instead of 60 minute classes. Sixty minute is just too long for me.
Thank you,
