Use facilities at both Decatur and East Lake YMCA at least five times per week
I am a physician but I learn most of what I need to know from sitting in the sauna at East Lake taking in all the stories, adventures, mishaps, information about weddings and deaths and how to cure diabetes: drink this, eat that vitamin, rub this or that cream on your skin and of course one of my favorites is to drink Mogen David 20/20 wine 2 to 3 times weekly to help one’s libido and of course cure cancer!
BTW the best times to sit in the sauna are Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 3 to 5.
Almost all the staff including management all the time and at at both facilities are wonderful friendly and responsive.
I would not think of ever changing.
I like being able to schedule a swim time.

Peloton bike and cross fit room. Love the indoor and outdoor pools
Daycare, pool, and Peloton is pretty much all I use at East Lake.
I wish there wasn't permanently a shortage of Peloton bikes due to machines breaking.
I also wish it wasn't so cold in the dressing room. It makes getting out of the pool a miserable experience with my toddler.
A lot of options
I love the variety and there are great instructors. There really is a sense of community. My request would be for more cycling classes past 5PM. It's hard to get to a 5PM practice when people typically get off work around that time.
The cleanliness of the workout rooms and group instructors.
It is very conveniently located. Like the fact that there are quite appropriate for seniors interested in long term wellness.
I enjoy this YMCA.
I'm having a great time at this Y. I like most of the classes I'm taken. (I'm a class kind of person.) I'm so excited to have stumbled into the AOA, and that the members have been gracious enough to support my involvement.
My only nitpicky complaints are that some of the teachers play the SAME music every class and that is really tiresome. I also wish there were some step classes midday. I'd like to see the YMCA website for the East Lake YMCA activated. If you go there and click the button to register, it goes to a page that says "there are no programs at this time". Also, it should be brought to new member's attention as they become involved in the Y. Or, it will help them become more involved in the Y community.
I feel like this Y is a real community gem and I'm so happy I finally got myself off of the sofa and signed up to come in and move!!
I can't really say since I haven't to date used the programs and activities, though I really want to play Pickleball at some point soon.
I like the variety of classes provided. The ease for a working parent.

I really enjoy being able to work out in a clean environment. I am always seeing a lady or two working to keep the facility clean. However, they can not do this by themselves. I suggest the team/employees should encourage all to be diligent about wiping down equipment before and after use. I have never seen an employee encourage members to wipe down anything!
I have arthritis in my feet and ankles and I love swimming in the "lagoon" with my daughters. We also enjoy the whirlpool. Everyone who works at the Y is always polite.
Cowart member that visited East Lake this weekend. Really enjoyed Shannon D two group workouts...great vibe and playlist.
My daughter is taking swim lessons. The Aquatics director, Ms Raquel and her teacher, Coach B are both awesome!!!
I go the the East Lake Y for the weight room. It is well lit, immaculately clean and the equipment well spaced out.
I wish there were more aqua aerobics classes offered, particularly high intensity ones.
The small offerings for seniors.
It was my first time coming to the East Lake YMCA. The set up was very nice and neat. I took the fierce funk class, it was fun and challenging. Definitely will return.
I really love the focus on whole person and family wellness.

I have been a member of this Y for nearly 10 years and I have enjoyed a variety of programs and activities over the years. I am also a member of the active older adult (AOA) program I am also an active swimmer and I enjoy being able to reserve a lap lane. I also appreciate all the staff members. They are always friendly and are very efficient and responsive to my needs or issues. While my rating indicates that there is always room for improvement in any organization, I am satisfied with the programs offered by this Y.
