Member Testimonials
They are based on ages, you have multiple schedules
Over the past years, the Main Line Y improvements have been great.
The inclusive classes and great environment/culture of staff and other membership attendees!
The friendly outgoing communication that staff consistantly shows when interacting with members.
There are lots of programs available, pools and hot whirlpool, steams and sauna rooms, locker rooms, other facilities.
Accessibility to information is a little challenging. For example trying to get current info about facility use, my calls get routed to an answering machine and call is returned a few days later.
Tennis facility is great! Lots of classes to choose from. Theater department is wonderful. Outdoor pools are the biggest downfall of this Y as they are not very clean. And unless your kids are very young or new swimmers, these pools (both indoor and outdoor) are not fun for any other age unless lap swimming is desired.
There is a lot included with the membership. The use of the facilities and the opportunity to participate in all of the other programs at the member rate. My daughter is 6 and loves the Y. She takes swim and tennis lesson and I am very pleased with the instruction. The kids club offers very good hours.
Swimming. Can still swim outdoors after labor day. Pool is still open when it rains (if not hard). Lanes are wide so easy to share. I love the circle swim lanes. It should be standard at all gyms when busy, but it's not. I shouldnt have too ask to share a lane. These points are small but are a big deal. This is why I came back.
Also being able to use other gyms is really useful.
Excellent value for the money!
The variety of choices to help with fitness, health, and fun! We love the pool and wellness center.
My grandchildren attend Pre-K, Summer Camps and Programs, Fall and Winter Sports, Swimming, Tennis, etc. and continually evolves.
The Staff are incredibly nurturing and all in for the kids.
Location is close to home
I like that there is always something for my entire family. Our kids take karate lessons, my husband and I take classes and use the wellness center. I have taken nutrition classes at the Y and CPR classes. We feel like we are part of a community with the Y. Staff is great and knows you by name. I like that we can go to other Y locations.
The counselors work very hard to keep the kids active and engaged. UMLY is a great facility with tons of space for diverse activity. There is plenty of room for play and specialized areas for animal interaction, arts and crafts, stage, tennis, etc. The camp atmosphere is so enthusiastic. My son loved morning stage time. My son was happy, and tired/dirty from a full day of play. He made many new friends. We love UMLY and all it has to offer.
