I like the variety of classes and the large cardio room and assortment of equipment in the weight room.
I only use the warm water pool due to health ISSUES. *I FEEL VERY WELCOME AND VERY PLEASED WITH THE PROGRAM.
I love going to the Y & working out, but due to my lack of participation in Y programming and activities, I cannot comment. My only advice regarding the Y is in the area of weightlifting equipment. Being somewhat shy, and female, in a male dominated area, I am reticent about approaching people who are sitting on machines, looking at their phones, and not actually using the machine. This happens all the time, and I would prefer if there is a rule at the Y, outlawing the parking of oneself on machines, only to seemingly use the machines as a place to sit while looking at one's phone. I do not care one whit if the person is texting, or figuring out what song or podcast to listen to for their next weightlifting exercise. I do not own a smart phone, and I have no sympathy for anyone who needs a moment to do what ever with their phone before starting their next set on the machine. Let the person stand, or sit on the window ledge to deal with their phone, and allow people like me to get on with the business of working out at the Y. Otherwise, no complaints with the Kennett Y--I really love it & I'm grateful for having it in our community.
The programs are good and some of them are essential like swimming classes and trainings and aerobics, etc. but I personally like to see programs more relevant to me. To name a few I'd be more interested in programs like weight loss and self improvement. I think it would be great if you could have members to vote or suggest what programs they need most.
