Good variety of classes
Equipment
Love the programs and teachers at this YMCA, they don't make your feel intimidated and the women at the front desk are always very friendly and kind.
Clean, updated facility, wide range of desired classes, very knowledgeable instructors.
Facility is clean and spacious with exorcise equipment plentiful. Staff is always helpful and friendly.
I love the friendly community feeling at the Y. The fact that the instructors make a point to know your name goes a long way
Exercise classes
It has everything I need. so happy that you now have included special things for the more mature people!!! I enjoy the knitting and of course yoga and swimming.
My children have had so much fun playing basketball with Coach Nate on the Bucks!! His encouragement and positive energy has made them love to play!! I really would like the YMCA franchise to offer organized sports for older teens. My son will “age out” next year and won’t be able to play. He unfortunately won’t be able to make it on his school’s team and therefore will be done playing a sport he loves. It’s sad that when an teenager really needs to stay busy and active, to stay out of trouble, the YMCA isn’t there to give him the same great experience he’s had for years of his life. Please change this to be inclusive of ALL children!!
Personal training sessions with Helen are the best !
My children are learning how to swim and have great instructors , and helpful staff
Pottery for youth - excellent class.
Like the family programs.
Pickleball
A broad selection of activities for every level of fitness, a welcoming atmosphere with professional and helpful staff, a well managed facility, and a compatable membership.
A professionally run facility that is clean and well equipped. The Kennett Y is a great asset to the community. Could not be more pleased.

I love all of the staff. They are all amazing!
I love the structure of the YMCA and the opportunity of family activities. It brings union for family!!!
Low key, self paced, and social contacts in a comfortable friendly environment.A very interesting
and diverse collection of people.
There is a lot of diverse programs.
I would suggest that the lighting in the gym be improved.
I enjoy the exercise program that I have established for myself, and also my swimming.
Great facility, clean, good for teens.
I like the prerecorded workout videos.
I work full-time so it’s hard for me to make it to a live class. I like the flexibility of the pre-recorded videos.
Everyone is professional, offers answers to questions, is knowledgable. Things seem to go seemlessly and people give off a vibe-to me-of liking to work there.
Nice Lap pool
I have been going to the Kennett YMCA since 2003 when my children were born. They learned to swim there, socialize, play basketball, tennis, kickball, t-ball. They even did a bit of cooking and arts and crafts. I take many classes a week there. The instructors and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I look forward to coming in every morning. In addition to helping me keep my fitness up, I have made many friends through the Y. During Covid lockdown, when the Y was allowed, they offered up classes outdoors which were pretty full. As we eventually were able to move indoors, the Y wee flexible and accommodating so that members could attend classes and feel safe.
As far as I can see, there are no drawbacks to becoming a member at the Kennett Square YMCA
Nice people. Especially at front desk.
Basketball court needs to be cleaned at least once a week. It is too slippery.
Also, the nets on the main court need to be inspected regularly & replaced when apparent.
There should be extra nets available anytime for immediate replacement when necessary.
Please address these.
Thanks!
Everyone is so friendly and supportive. I use the aquatic arthritis class and it has been wonderful not only for the relief from arthritis pain but for the social aspect.
My only negative comment concerning the Y is the elimination of the summer community pool. As a senior I would get a membership every summer for the pool. It was reasonable and easy to get to. It provided relief in the summer. I am unhappy that it will not be available to the senior public this year. I do not feel it is practical to travel to other YMCA’s.

We love the BASE programs and are so impressed with how long the same core staff have stayed. It has been a wonderful experience!
