Good variety of equipment, classes, friendly & helpful staff.
I would only recommend one change:
1) Car Park charges are a bit extreme, and work out expensive if you use the gym on a regular basis. I understand there is need for some charge but when I first became a member we got our car park fee back which I used for my locker. I don’t feel safe parking my car on a free side street because I can only use the facility at night due to working full time. I feel there should be a reduced rate for members or perhaps a reduced fee for senior members.

Plenty of equipment in the gym & the price of membership is very good.
Michelle on the front desk (reception) is extremely attentive. Welcomes everybody, always smiling, a very warning welcome each time. Also the cleaning staff work tirelessly to keep on top of the relentless work they have. The gym welcomes children and the mess they create is huge, yet the team constantly try to keep on top of it. The new equipment is great in the gym. The gym staff could do more to keep on top of the dirt and dust in the gym floor as there is large pockets of hair and dust collating in corners.
A wide variety of classes
I only use the pool at Medlock for swimming & aqua aerobics. It’s fine & the water temperature is usually good, not too cold.
Issues are surrounding the lack of keys for lockers & also lack of cubicles when the aqua class is fully booked. It’s not good having to stand around in wet costumes waiting for a cubicle especially when there is a communal changing room which is locked due to the expected arrival of school children. If the rooms were open then we could be dried, changed & out of there before the children actually come in.
Also the vending machines seriously need replacing, there are always problems with the hot drinks machine

Staff and the people.
I really like the classes I go to at Copley, especially Zumba with Siobhan Batchelor and Christie Robbs line dancing classes and her other two classes. These are excellent. Also Jade Curtis Zumba Gold, she is such good fun and lively whilst keeping us fit. Unfortunately because Active closed at Ashton the demand is such that it is sometimes difficult to get on. The state of the floor in the dance area is poor and also the air conditioning units in the ceiling are not cleaned enough. All in all though the parking is amazing, the cafe is great and I hope in the New Year to upgrade my membership to include other areas of the Centre.
