Genesis Health Clubs and Deluxe Landscape Design have a mutual agreements in place with each other. Deluxe Landscape Design has honored our side but Genesis has failed. We are hopefully Genesis will make things right asap!
Need more of a presence on the floor to help with club etiquette, e.g., equipment hogs. More spray bottles and towels to clean. It seems like I am having to search high and low lately to find them in the weights areas.
As the weather is changing, the temperature is going up in the tennis court area, and a lot of us are sweating more and noticing the air conditioner is not running much, also we do not have the ceiling fans re-installed like we used to have which would help cool the temperature on the courts.
We are not in a pandemic anymore, long time now, and many of us really depended upon the Large orange or blue "gatorade" style coolers on all the courts. We are back hosting many other teams in the KC Metro area, and are not hospitable on the water we offer now that we used to.
Thursday we noticed a lot of debris on the courts and socks, etc. laying around about 10:30am, so not sure if someone can start sweeping in the evening after the last court play.
Thanks so much for taking care of these hospitality and housekeeping items!
The cleanliness and the staff. The Les Mills classes!
I think it will be nice once it’s finally finished whatever that’s going to be. Some of the new things were really not needed like the raised platform on both sides of the stairways which is just waiting for someone to trip and break a hip. I’ll be surprised if it’s not finished sooner than October way it’s going
Mold smell in locker room, equipment machines broke for weeks/months at a time.
Twice in the last 3 weeks, I’ve come over in the evening to use the men’s whirl pool and the water temperature was ridiculously low.
If the remodel ever gets completed so we can come back and enjoy the club. I would probably recommend it. But I as a member would like to see it first. Hurry up and finish!!! This has taken way to long, however you still want us to pay our full membership.
You don’t seem to care if the sound system in the cycle room works or not.
Later hours, especially on weekends, fix the machines that have been broken for months.
Needs updating in locker rooms and some Cybex machines showing their age. I know this is in future plans but seems slow to come.
Lea's water aerobics classes.
Club’s great! I was enjoy to work out there.
Keep the gym cleaner
I've been a member of 24 Hour and now Genesis for close to 20 years. I have been a Silver Sneaker/older adult class member for most of those years. Water classes have been a mainstay in my exercise routine, so I'm saddened when a water class doesn't do well and participation is down. Recently this happened at the Cass Street facility in Omaha. Instead of finding a replacement instructor (who was the issue), the class was canceled. It seems that once a class is canceled, it doesn't get revisited. I travel to more that one facility to participate in Silver Sneakers yoga and aerobics classes, and those classes are excellent. There are just not enough for older adults. I get that the emphasis is on younger folks, but come on...there is a bunch of us out here, and we have money!!!
Repair and upkeep have been issues at this location for years, but have gotten even worse since the remodel and changes of name/ownership. In the men's locker room, it's a rare day when the whirlpool, steam and sauna are all in working order. The lights in the latter two rooms were out for months, and the "out of order" sign is often on one or more. The treadmills and stationary bikes often see multiple ones out of order, while seats and handles on the working ones show significant wear. The massage chairs were welcome and popular additions, but both were allowed quickly to deteriorate, and instead of being repaired or replaced were simply removed. The money spent on redesigning the lockers (which weren't really an issue) would have been better invested in upkeep and improvement.
It is getting a facelift that shows it will be completely Clean and have a lot of wonderful amenities
It’s always very clean and organized!
The club is clean and access is easy.
Nice facility with Racquettball Courts and swimming pools and a lot of equipment to work out with.
Classes
No courts at my gym.
The biggest disappointment to me is your membership staff. I called multiple times to try and decided If I should cancel my gym membership and no one could tell me how much it would cost to keep it. I asked multiple times and was told it should be the same amount you paid last year.
It was also infuriating that being on my MIL plan, I myself could not cancel said membership. Yet, I could sign up without her.
The whole process felt like I was talking to inept staff, who were unhelpful and did not care. I will never come back to genesis again.
Good place
The gym was very clean
Clean friendly and equipment works
The Centergy class is probably the best one I’ve taken. The trainer I train with is really good. Takes time to listen to physical injuries and constraints in order to work with me yet still keep my training at a high level. Weight options are really good and lots of cardio equipment choices.
Fix the bathroom in the eating area! Fix some of the bikes upstairs overlooking the lobby. Open the swimming pool other than reservations.
I love the staff, and the kids club is great. Big fan of yhe grass area down by the weights, it’s great for training and stretching. I also love the cycle classes!
The views, professional service, cleanliness.
