I like the positive reinforcement during the workout - I need that to push myself. I also like that the workouts aren't monotonous - there's nothing worse than doing the same thing over and over. At Orange Theory, the music is great, the atmosphere is great, and the exercises are different from class to class, so I don't get bored.

Coaching is motivating
I mainly come to this location because the instructors are awesome, friendly, helpful with techniques. It is close to my house!
I became a member in 2017 (sounds like a long-time). I definitely swallowed the Kool-Aid. What keeps me coming back class after class when I NEVER on my life went to any kind of gym or fitness facility? I’m a numbers guy and I like the heart rate monitor to measure my effort (“splat points” or time when heart rate is above 84% of max), calories burned and other data.
I get bored easily and every workout is different.
I’ve been at 4 different studios and the coaches are all good, fun and motivating. Because I’m old and have had a long-term shoulder injury, I sometimes have to do some modifications in the weight room rather than the prescribed task, but it’s not an issue. Everyone works hard but that is different for each individual; some of us are as old as dirt, many are mid-age, and a good number of younger people who I admire for starting great fitness habits early (wish I had done that). I can’t run as fast or lift as much weight as most of the younger people, but I bust my butt the whole time that I’m there.
The front administrative staff are also good and make for a better experience.
Would I have attended almost 1,800 classes in this period if I were just a gym member with no accountability for attending classes? No way. Probably wouldn’t have gone to 8. Sounds stupid but still get excited to go to classes, talk with staff, coaches and other members who you get to know. I’m very competitive so I want to always hit my goals and targets and beat everyone else in the class!

I like that it is just as welcoming on my scheduled days as it was on my first. The coaches really take the time to see how everyone is doing and check in on stats to keep you motivated. I have only been to 3 classes so far (I have the 8 classes per month plan), but I am strongly considering trying to find a way to go unlimited. The sense of accomplishment I feel after a class is overwhelming in the best way, and why wouldn’t you want that everyday?!
