This yoga company is a true enhancement to the landscape of our city. The people and company are warm inviting of the highest standards. They truly care and want to walk the walk!! Very impressive!!!
A male and female change room plus another space to change.
Mabey give long term members a discount on there membership. A free week or two during a time when it seems appropriate or a tshirt/yoga wear. Just making it up as I go along. Enjoyed meditation with Bernie. I will be back doing yoga when I can.
Variety of classes and great teachers!
Excellent, friendly, caring teachers; wonderful, calm atmosphere; community of friendly students; friendly and helpful staff at desk; awesome space.
I used to go to Semperviva several years ago before moving out of the area and then moving back. I was excited to be back. now, not so much.
Service is friendly and warm enough, but often times the people at the desks are interested in finishing their conversations with one another before turning their attention to the client. In the past, the people at the desks were quite friendly and recognized you quite quickly after your 2nd or 3rd visit. As well, they asked if they could help you with anything (they were quite knowledgable about the products on the shelves) or asked if it was your first visit. For first time visitors, you were given a tour as well as a run down of what to expect. This did not happen on my first visit back.
In the class itself, things have also changed. Several Hatha instructors are not as concerned with helping students who have an injury or aiding those who obviously may not be able to do certain positions due to age, illness, or pregnancy. (I only attend Hatha classes so I can not comment on the other classes).
Often times these people (the older, the ill, or the pregnant) were not given attention and had to come up with their own possible 'safe' position alternatives or just assume child's pose. In the past, instructors used to offer alternative poses or various levels of difficulty and inform students what would be safe positions to try if you were suffering from an injury, etc. I was disappointed to see that when a few instructors did come to someone's aid, it was the healthy and/or the young that were being helped/corrected. To the older newcomer, I would definitely think twice before suggesting Semperviva as an option as the Hatha classes may be too difficult because of the speed with which the positions change. To those who are pregnant, I may warn them that there are really only two classes a week that they could attend as they will not be offered alternative poses. To those who are ill/injured, I may suggest to them that in several Hatha classes there is a lack of attention to correctness in postures.
On the plus side, Semperviva has grown to offer many choices/classes and not all instructors are poor. In fact, I believe all the instructors want to teach well but perhaps they are a bit inexperienced or lacking the knowledge or confidence to improvise and help those who need it.
helpful and friendly admin staff
most teachers are well trained
schedule provides many options
the energy and vibe of the studios are beautiful and simple =)
The welcoming staff at the front desk, the strong focus on the breathe, the frequency of classes
The Kits Beach location is not very pleasant due to noisy fans, sweaty windows, poor ventilation, stinky mats. However, teachers are great.
Many classes to choose from. Friendly, accommodating front desk staff. Knowledgeable teachers
Better changing area.
I like/prefer the sea studio location for the view of the water from studio and the ease of parking
super friendly staff (especially Kylie), great classes and instructors. very welcoming and inviting feeling as soon as you open the door to the studio
Love the teachers and variety of yoga styles also the amount of classes and 4 locations
D
Location, instructor, atmosphere
Friendly teachers and lovely smiles !!!
Always friendly and smiling staff. Great yoga classes and teachers. Have been accomodating in the past with special requests or questions I've had.
Lots of classes, convenient times, good instructors, excellent website, very welcoming front desk staff and it's walking distance from my home.
It would be nice if the front desk staff, and the instructors, reminded people that it's polite to avoid walking on the mats. Nothing like having someone exit the bathroom barefoot and step right on the mat I'm putting my face on.
Close to where I live.
Mats are provided.
Very pleasant and helpful front desk staff.
Great variety of Yoga instruction.
The tea!
The location is great; the instructor, Jacci, is thoughtful, deliberate, and calm in her instruction, making the newcomers feel at ease.
Friendly and informative Yoga Advisors. (Ashley, Parissa, Raquel to name but a few!)
A good variety of well trained teachers along with a great variety of times and styles of yoga.
Clean and inviting studios.
The most welcoming environment, great, very helpful support staff, passionate and experienced teachers
I LOVE Gloria’s classes. Gloria’s classes are my main draw to this studio. Doing her classes is allowing me to go through my grieving process in a very healthy way. The words she uses in her classes couple that with her choice of music makes her classes one of a kind.
Studio location and outlook.
Great teachers and facilities .Keep up the good work
I think that the classes are too crowded. There is very little room to move into the poses without actually hitting the people next to you. I find that this interrupts my mindfulness of the poses and breathing.
Great location, friendly and smiling staff. My two favorite instructors and classes (Reno's vinyasa and Gloria's kundalini) are there.
In theory , I'd recommend it, though it's continued success may make it more
Difficult to find a space in the popular classes. It is one of the key reasons
That I purchased a monthly pass. Sea studio's intimacy
& waterside views beat down the more noisy &
Industrial Kits & City studios .Parking isn't quite so much a Challenge as
It is near the other 2 studios mentioned. My only wish is that there was a
Studio further east. :-)
Everything!
If you were able to adjust the schedule to have classes starting at 6pm or 6:15pm it would help make it easier for people who have to get from the office to class
