Customer Testimonials
They’re unique! Playing with others and performing is so much more fun for our kid than going to traditional music lessons.
It's a unique program. Kids are treated and given skills more like adults which is unusual and good.
There's nothing like performing what you learn.
We love the exposure to all genres of music that kids wouldn’t typically hear day to day. We love the passion for music the instructors have. How supportive they are of the kids learning. We love that the kids learn through playing. That they have a show to perform which gives purpose and teaches them how to perform under pressure and in front of a crowd. We love love love school of rock.
Our son just loves it - the instructors are all so nice and really good at bringing out the love of music. There is no shaming for not practicing and only encouragement from instructors. The managers are also super nice at rescheduling, etc.
Kids get up to speed so fast and have fun, which keeps them interested.
My son is inpired to practice. He loves the social network created through SOR.
I like how sor works with my kid. She is excited about the band in way that is hard to explain but is definitely something different than what we have seen with her other activities. I also like the collaborative work you all do; the bands are like teams but more fun (for her)!
Great instructors! Flexible, practical, talented, and it’s tough to be all three.
Leo loves his instructors, the support staff and the music of course. Having the actual rock concerts makes such a difference in his desire to do his best and really work on his parts in the songs to be a team player.
Supportive yet based on learning
Our son loves the instruction and performance opportunities. He also greatly values the many friendships he has made at SoR over the years. I think he appreciates the bonds he has built with his peers, all based upon their common interest in music.
As parents, we have enjoyed seeing our son grow as a musician, but also observing his confidence blossom. Music, like most other art forms, is a great way to express oneself as an individual. SoR provides an outlet for that expression while also learning how to work within a team to achieve a common goal...rocking the house!
Great teachers with lots of enthusiasm get my kids excited to make music!
That kids learn songs from many decades and genres.
That their show feels like a real show/gig. (At Wayzata brewworks, vfw, etc).
Their teachers are all so different.
We love it.
Building confidence through music and performance
My kids have fun learning songs that others know. They learn to work together with their band members, and they get comfortable performing on a stage at an early age.
The instructors are fantastic and my son has so much fun. The staff is always very friendly and willing to help with scheduling.
Incredible staff, the instructors are so gifted and have this amazing ability to connect and it’s a safe place and a family style atmosphere free of judgement where kids can be themselves and learn.

My son’s teachers are awesome and he always looks forward to lessons!
The instructors
We love the ability to use songs our son loves as a starting place for his lessons. It makes it so much more fun to practice and understand how the notes work.
