I definitely would recommend CorePower and I have done so I the past. I had been a member for about 1.5 yrs and recently started my practice again. The teachers are very helpful and always cheerful. I like how the teachers encourage to give it a little more, but also remind us it is my practice and me with my mat. The Minneapolis NE gives a warm welcome and the yoga rooms, locker area and showers are clean.

The classes are great and the instructors are also wonderful. I like the large studios with plenty of space for a class. I also like the times when classes are offered.

I truly enjoy the CPY community and classes -- I've gone through 3 teacher training programs with you! With that experience, I wanted to provide feedback for an instructor that led a very disappointing class today. I was taking the 9am Sculpt class with John at the Northeast Minneapolis location. I think he was a sub, and am not sure if he teaches sculpt very often, but I wanted to share some comments.

First, the order of the sequencing in class was very odd and felt a bit unsafe to me at times. To start, we never flowed through Sun B without weights, but rather went right into a sculpt series 1 at the very beginning of class (narrow rows with weights our first time in crescent lunge, upright rows our first time in warrior 2, etc.). My body wasn't warmed up for that, and some of the exercises had a lot of quick twisting/motions prone to swinging the weights.

Second, John's cuing was very incomplete throughout class. For example, he did not cue breath at all for the last half of class, and we were not guided through transitions or into all postures. In half pigeon, after getting into the posture on the right side, he said "switch sides anytime you like." Then a few moments later we were already moving on to the next thing. In supine spinal twist, he did say the name of the posture but then only ever said "hug your knee into your chest" and I noticed some students never actually did the twisting portion.

I was able to get a good workout in during class and modify as needed, but I definitely worried about if there were any new students in class. If you have a regular feedback process or check in with teachers regularly, you may want to check on these concepts. I hope this is helpful, and I'm sure I noticed more of these things than other students may have given that I've gone through teacher training. Teachers at broadway CPY are always enthusiastic, welcoming and willing to help students after the class. Temperature and humidity in hot yoga classes are well maintained here than in most other studios. The studio is very well maintained. Personally, I prefer northeast CPY over downtown CPY.

All of the teachers were welcoming and kind. Very supportive, positive atmosphere. Scott's yoga sculpt class was such a great workout; he was so enthusiastic and he really got us inspired to work hard. I really appreciated Grace's hands-on adjustments. I also love when the teachers would press on my forehead and shoulders at the start of shavasana. Thanks!
