It has been years since I have gone to the Mayan theater. So to see all the upgrades and the cleanliness, the staff so helpful and the food was what I expected from a movie theater. The seats and sound in the theater itself made me feel as I was in the movie.

The good--I really enjoyed the effort the theater put into making the experience a safe one. The use of the self-serving popcorn is a really good idea. Also offering clear plastic gloves is a plus in my book.

The no-so-good--It was really stuffy in the theater. Not sure if that's because they didn't want the air circulating throughout or what but it was a little uncomfortable watching the movie. Also, the guy at concessions talked me into getting the large popcorn because of the free refills, but when I went to get a refill, the popcorn area along with concessions was already broken down for the night and being cleaned. I just wish he had mentioned the cutoff time for popcorn refills. The drinks were not a problem as they were still available, albeit in a separate area.

Overall it was a positive movie-going experience considering it had been since Feb 2020 since I was last at any movie theater. I would return feeling safe and would recommend it to friends and family.

I would go to Santikos every other Friday night at Santikos Mayan and Casa Blanca the next Friday night by myself because the movies is like my therapy it helps me get things off my mind because of a rough week Monday through Friday job. But overall i don't like to be bother by other moviegoers like friends for a example and i'm glad it change for the better now that Santikos have better seats. I never like how the seats were before because other moviegoers would put their foot on another person seat and kick in a very disrespectful way by interrupting. It's like you'll guys read my mind. Something had to be changed. In the beginning my friend Carlos and i would go to Santikos Mayan and sit in the middle of the movie theater and watch a perfect view of the movie screen and still be interrupt by someone kicking our seats and i hated it so i told my friend Carlos for now on let's sit on the back row on top but my friend Carlos didn't like the idea of sitting on top back row until now he understand why i like the top back row so no one would kick our seats and we have a perfect view to see everything on the big screen without someone big head in the way lol. I have not be going to the Santikos Theater in a while ever since this virus started but i'm glad it's starting to pick up again, missing out on all the fun at the movies...
