Malaka was so friendly and made me feel very comfortable about my first time visiting Skin Matters. She assessed my skin and gave me very positive and helpful feedback and suggestions. I was originally scheduled for microdermabrasion but Malaka looked at my skin and listened to what I was trying to achieve and suggested that I go with a peel. She constantly asked about my comfort. My skin looks amazing now! She also suggested dermaplaning which I didn't know much about. I think I'll get that next time along with the hair removal she suggested and explained to me.
On another note, the woman who checked me wasn't very friendly. She seemed cold and something was going on with her. Not sure what that was about but it came off a bit judgemental and prejudiced. Malaka was warm and made me feel welcomed.
Friendly staff members put you at ease for what isn't necessarily a pleasant process - laser hair removal. The effectiveness of the treatment was discussed up front and it has exceeded my expectations! I wish I had the time to go in for more treatments!

Update knowledge on how to treat skin for faster healing and less scarring. I was initially advised to allow area to scab over for reduced scarring- this is old school, and I mean REALLY old school, thinking. It was demonstrated back in the 1960s that keeping "wounds" moist (and clean) speeds healing by 50%, and there is much less scarring. I was really surprised to hear this, having personally known of the moist wound healing thing for many, many years.
It's an easy enough thing to correct (just update on facts), and everything else was super! Very friendly, thoughtful and caring- start to finish. Here's just one link to the whole "dry vs moist" healing.

Tech came to waiting area in to discuss fees and services in depth for several mi utes.She should have taken them to another area for this discussion.Otherwise good experience!
