The STRC facility equipment, lockers, and men's restroom/locker room are well designed and organized. Additionally, the early morning and Saturday staff are very friendly resulting in positive experiences.

However, it is noted that a wide and parallel gap exists between the stairs and the outside wall. This issue has existed since the facility opened and can be readily addressed/repaired using backer rod and applicable caulking materials. Allowing the parallel gap to continue to exist may allow moisture and insects to enter the building and lead to future costly repairs.

In addition, the windows opening into the weight room at the upper-level porch allow a significant amount of sunlight and associated glare to enter. The sunlight can be very distracting and could lead to user safety issues.

Allen Senior Recreation Center is an excellent place for Seniors. It provides a variety of learning opportunities, fitness programs, travel events and more! It also brings together a sense of ‘family’ and ‘community’ where members feel welcome. The staff is friendly and supportive; always ready to assist when needed. I highly recommend this center! 🤗

I love walking with the Senior Steppers as well as the exercise classes. I traveled to Scotland and Spain with the Allen Senior center. The trips were amazing. I highly recommend The Allen Senior Center!!

The Senior Center has alot to offer. I use the Workout Area mostly. We also have played in the Billard room before. There is also some Great Tea in the Cafeteria dining area.

The Senior Center is a neat place with a pleasant, easygoing environment and wonderful people.

It was a great time. Enjoyed every minute. Met some great people.

Tai chi class for beginners is great!

The fact that I can go there and play pool or ping pong, maybe learn mahjong and have lunch in between

I love the center but would hesitate to invite more people because it is already hard to get in the classes I want. Love the people and the employees especially David! He is always so nice and friendly!!

The ASRC has much to offer all seniors. From many affordable classes to leisure time to play cards or dominoes, etc. It is run by friendly, helpful staff and volunteers.
