The Taylor Family YMCA - After School program has been an exceptional experience for my daughter. The counselors are consistently fun and engaging, fostering a positive environment where the kids feel supported and valued. They go above and beyond to ensure the emotional and physical well-being of each child while promoting good behavior and positive values in an encouraging and uplifting manner.
I’m incredibly grateful for the dedicated team and the wonderful environment they’ve created for my child. It’s reassuring to know she is in such caring hands after school. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to other parents in the area!

The Kids Club experience has been great for my son. I know he’s in great hands when I’m working out. Shoutout to Sean in the game room who is a calm and competent presence!
Great environment, staff, so much to do for everyone of all ages all year round. Love the Christian base principles also. The YMCA is all inclusive as well and I love it!!! We have 3 adult children and we became members when they were in kindergarten (before/after school at Baucom Elementary with our oldest who is 27 😊 WOW).
Would like to propose a suggestion about Membership fees: propose a cap of membership fees at some point. Couple with the years you been a member. This would really show appreciation to those that have been dedicated and consistently been members. Just consider please. This would encourage longevity for any new members. My family has been members for 20 years or so and every increase we have been able to pay (Thank GOD). I have considered a few times canceling, but have not. Just wanted to share my thoughts.

Excellent group fitness classes and great instructors
You have a nice gym. I have not taken advantage of the pool but plan to do so soon. I like that you take care of of kids as well.
My only complaint would be that the aerobics class at 9 AM is so loud that my ears hurt when in the balcony riding a bike. I took a picture in the balcony area once during an aerobics class and you can see all but one person in the balcony had ear buds to protect their ears. I can easily recognize the words to the aerobics songs despite having my ear buds on. That can’t be healthy for people.

I LOVE the Cary Taylor YMCA, as a 70 year old man still at work, it greatly enriches my life!!
As 30+ yr Kenilworth neighbood residents, our family walks to the Y all the time! In 1992, when wife and I first moved in, the Oasis pool and tennis court were intended to be for our Parkway Kenilworth use. Along came the Cary Y, and since 1998, our 2 daughters grew up in pre-school, camps, team sports, and leaders club with the WONDERFUL YMCA staff!
I would rate Taylor a 10, but I am giving a 9 rating for my three minor complaints:
1) Behavior RULES have grown a lot over decades.
(in the POOL- if kids and parents are having pool frolic fun, you are breaking some rule!)
2) I miss the hot tub JACUZZI. But I understand the hot tub was underutiilized, and thus it was removed during locker room renovation!
3) BIGGEST minor complaint: STEAM ROOM is frequently BROKEN! I LOVE the men's steam room for hot stretching before or after an outdoor cycling ride. STEAM is my primary YMCA love. Please FIX and IMPROVE the STEAM room! Do NOT remove it!
Wonderful facility, great staff! Everyone is so friendly and the place is very clean and well equipped. I love the 'YMCA philosophy' and it is a fantastic organization. So blessed to be a member and frequent the Taylor Family YMCA.
