The facilities are nice and clean. There are plenty of exercise options available. The people who work there are very friendly and very eager to answer my questions.
The individuals that work at the Y are all warm and welcoming!
The facility is clean, modern & well-equipped. Staff are all friendly and helpful. I love the Dance HIIT class with Jeeyoon! I appreciate the support by NWCY for my kids' YOTA swim team throughout the year and providing a great space for them to practice. My daughter loves the NWCY summer swim team and the summer coaches are all so great with the kids. We are so blessed to be so close to this great facility!
My only 2 issues would be that:
1. Parents for the YOTA swim team have to drive around in the crowded, busy parking area in front of the main lobby of the building to drop off our swimmers for practice. It gets a little dangerous there because some cars drive a bit too fast through there. It is also inconvenient for the swimmers to have to walk through the entire building just to get back to the swim area, when it would be so much easier (& less disruptive to the main lobby) if the kids could enter through the swimming check-in desk. Would it be possible for a staff member (or maybe one of the lifeguards who are not on pool duty) to be at the desk for the few hours in the afternoon when swim team members enter the pool deck? Just a suggestion. I realize that there may not be staff to dedicate to this.
2. Parking lot is difficult to navigate, but I realize that NWCY does not have an unlimited amount of space to arrange for parking. I am also worried about the traffic that may occur once the townhouse complex (the multi-story complex they are constructing next to the pool area). I hope that their entrance & exit would be directly onto Carpenter Fire station Rd and not onto the small road that goes alongside the pool. Just worried about safety over there.

It's clean, not too crowded in the morning, and there's always clean towels.
The incredibly Friendly Staff - which greet me by name when I check in!!
And I love the lap pool.
I transferred from Downtown Durham YMCA last Fall because the pool situation was terrible (including Hope Valley Pool which is only 2 miles from my house and was rarely available for lap swimmers and closed early in the Fall).
I actually drive to the NW Cary Y every day from Durham - which is further than downtown - but the experience is sooooo much nicer!

Steve is awesome and very personable.
Great facility, great staff. But as with all gyms now, everyone should be banned from cell phone usage while using weight machines, weight benches as too many people have lost all forms of manners in sharing machines while others are waiting. Using a cell phone while sitting on a machine while people are waiting should cause the person to have the leave the facility for the day.
