Member Testimonials
Camp Grace has been a wonderful inclusive place for our son with autism.
Wonderful counselors, great range of activities, excellent hours
I recently visited several gyms close to me after UNC Wellness had another price increase. This included visits to Golds Gym, (2) Planet Fitness locations, Cor4, Spenga, and (4) YMCAs. The NW Cary location came out on top, your Chatham Downs location is a close 2nd, but the equipment and class options, cleanliness, and super friendly staff made it easy to join your NW Cary location. It is most like, but newer than the UNC Wellness Center where I have been a member for a few years. You are a further drive, but I look forward to visiting often and staying health at the Y! Thank you, Neil
We like that the Northwest Cary YMCA Day Camp provides a safe, fun, and welcoming environment. The staff are friendly and caring, and there are many activities that keep the kids engaged, active, and learning throughout the day.
Kiddo learnt something everyday, made friends and had a good time overall.
Very welcoming. As a parent, the Kid Zone provides safety and care for my girls while I work out. I do not have that sense of peace with the Kids Zone in Chapel Hill YMCA, especially with my 3 month old. It is great to see a consistent face like Kamaya. Which unfortunately, has not been our experience with Chapel Hill. We love it to but the Kids Zone doesn't compare at all.
Staff is friendly & helpful and facility is clean and well-kept.
How the facility feels new and modern, and we also love the gym and the many options of trainers and activities for kids as well.
It’s very nice and welcoming. Has tons of space and classes and a variety of equipment.
I’ve had a very positive experience with the Northwest Cary YMCA. The facility is wonderful—clean, welcoming, and well maintained. I especially enjoy the great variety of group exercise classes and the amazing instructors, who are knowledgeable, motivating, and supportive. The staff is always friendly, and there’s a great sense of community. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to stay active and healthy.
The facilities are excellent. The staff are dedicated, accessible, and willing to go above and beyond to help the members. The personal trainers are extraordinarily capable.
Great facility, staff, class options and equipment
Love the lap pool. The staff is friendly. The facility is clean. One of my favorites locations!
Much better experience than in 2018 and early 2019 and I feel more included but to protect myself I don’t speak to any of the fellow gym members (especially females) to protect myself and my feelings from getting hurt. I also want to go just to workout or get to know only the ymca staff members than make friends. I already am happy with my tight close knit circle of friends and it doesn’t matter if some or a lot of fellow members don’t like me. Life is too short to let other people control my life and my feelings. I’m happy in my own skin as someone with level one high functioning autism and I promise I will stay out of unnecessary trouble by not getting overwhelmed. I already feel so much better coming here the past 36 hours so thank you so much. Will improve my score to a 10 if classes also go well and people are welcoming. Thank you so much for all you do and looking for many years as a member here without having any issues.
The instructors (Yoga, BodyPump, Zumba) are outstanding.
The northwest carry Y is a little far from my house. But I come because the facilities are clean and the steam room works. I just received the ridiculous notice from the Last name removed YMCA that they are getting rid of their steam room. It is closest to my house and I’m sad that they cannot figure out 2026 how to make a steam room function. I have to say overall I’m disappointed with my membership over the last four years and will be looking for gym membership, etc. elsewhere.
The pools are great and everything is well organized.
My personal trainer experience has been amazing. The classes are varied. The staff have all been very nice.
I enjoy watching my team create an environment where every child feels safe, included, and excited to come each day.
The staff is very respectful and teach the children how to be kind and share. My boys love been at camp and before and after care. I appreciated the staff and the hard work they do.
Everyone is always so kind. The facility is always clean.
I continue to appreciate the variety of activities, outside time, and amazing leadership of Camp Ex staff.
Every day is different, but with structure to the week. The field trips are a great variety and get my kids excited!
Great facilities
My daughter loved camp this year. She really connected with the counselors and had a ton of fun. It was a bummer that there was a poop accident in the pool earlier in the summer that she witnessed, and she did not want to swim for the rest of the year. She still really enjoyed herself though!
My son had a great summer at YMCA summer camp. He was there for multiple weeks and enjoyed all of the activities. He spoke highly of the counselors and was always excited in the morning to go back.
Beautiful facility. Friendly staff. Good location,
Great instructors, lots of options for classes.
The people are very helpful and friendly. The facility is clean, well organized and has a good variety of equipment.
The space!! I am from Chapel Hill and go to the MLK-Chapel Hill-Carrboro facilities. Northwest Cary is nothing compared to it! The studios are huge and allow for many more members to attend a class! Also, I was able to do half hour of a conditioning class and then switch to do half hour of a zumba class. I've never used my free hour for workout in a better way! The locker rooms at Cary was spacious, comfortable and with more services, like towels! Sad to see how our facility is so different and offer such poor services compared to that one. Unfortunately I live far from cAry and can't use it as a usual venue.

My son loves the camp, he is happy to go every day! The staff is very friendly and the enrollment process was easy.
