Friendly staff and members
The membership of the Durham Y is diverse in so many dimensions. The teachers are awesome and the staff are always welcoming.
The gym is perfect, the staff is wonderful. Parking is usually easy to find. The location is super convenient. The weekend hours could be a little better but not a big issue. Overall, I love this facility

The staff is so incredibly kind and genuine. I just moved to Durham, and it’s so nice to be greeted every time I walk in. And not in a superficial way. The facilities are always clean. In fact, I have recommended the YMCA to my brother.
Easy to get to, has all the equipment I need. Physical building does need a bit of renovation if not going to be torn down and replaced (which I know it’s the medium term plan)

I do not like how poorly the members treat the facility, however. It's the only frustration.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful.
I totally enjoy the water aerobic class, the two pools, and the women large locker room.
Ladies at the front deck are so friendly and knowledgeable. Tonnie Markham (aquatic teacher) is awesome.

I always know I have a place to play basketball and the staff is welcoming and friendly.
I mostly take classes in the big basketball gym which provides lots of space
Close to home, plenty of equipment, not too crowded.

I looove how conveniently located the Downtown Durham location is for me. The staff are also always so nice and helpful to me.

Bright, clean, easy parking
The staff are wonderfully welcoming and helpful. The group exercise teachers are the best, all very careful to suggest alternatives if we need them, so I feel very safe and secure.
