I love the culture of the Alexander Y. The staff is very friendly and encouraging, and the members are also very welcoming. The instructors are outstanding and clearly prepare for the classes. There is a large variety of classes at a mix of times.
The facility is clean and the staff is friendly. There is plenty of equipment to use.
I love that there are a variety of classes that I can take at different times. My favorite class is cardio with Byron! He makes working out fun and welcoming. I'm comfortable working out at my own pace.
It’s not super expensive and I love how much equipment there is and that there’s a pool!
We personally like the friendly staff members, who go beyond the call of duty to help with whatever issues they are confronted with by the guest. The variety of classes and programs that they offer and the various times. Everyone is encouraged to participate in programs offered by the YMCA regardless of age, race, or income.
Very well kept and everything anyone would want to do.

I love that the gym just feels like family. Everywhere you go, you’re greeted with a familiar face. The YMCA members go out of their way to treat their customers not just as customers but as real people. I couldn’t recommend the YMCA enough!!

The only thing that sours me on the YMCA is the use of cell phones. They are used as a platform for sending emails and texts. They not only tie up the machines but I have to listen to other peoples business on their calls, business and personal. There is a sign on the wall prohibiting their use. Enforce the rules or take down the sign.

Alexander has Friendly, helpful staff, and a clean, well maintained facility.
We are new to the Raleigh area and this Y has been so welcoming! Everyone is so friendly. The site is extremely clean and well maintained. I do have to wait quite often for weight machines, even during the middle of a week day, which is surprising. Weekends are quite crowded. Overall, we are very pleased with this Y!
The Alexander YMCA is amazing. Great people, great classes and great facilities.
Enjoy meeting other Y members, using track, exercise equipment, steamroller and sauna.
