Great refs, great family-fun atmosphere, the kids can just HAVE FUN and feel good about themselves!
I mainly use the upper floor machines and weights. I like that staff almost always greets me at the front desk, that I can walk to the Y, that there’s a good diversity of ages, races, and body types.
People. Friends. Friendliness. Positivity. Variety of activities.
Very friendly. Love the indoor pool!
Great equipment, great staff, great environment
I enjoy the friendly staff. Always willing to help you get to the root of a problem if there is one . Also you can't beat the cleanliness of the place. It's a all around great experience with A.F.YMCA.
This Y has a warm and inviting atmosphere. I enjoy attending the group fitness class.

High quality, spacious and clean facilities - exercise equipment, courts, group classrooms, locker rooms. friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent instructors for group classes.
Love the group fitness classes, but....
PLEASE MAKE AT LEAST ONE OF THE BODYPUMP CLASSES AT 7AM A 1-HOUR CLASS.
1-hour is the official format and it's not safe and is a disservice to members who think they are getting an acutal full body workout, when they are not. I haven't worked my shoulders in Bodypump class because the instructor has a shoulder issue and doesn't teach that segment. I have taken the 1-hour format at the Kraft Y and at Ys in other states. It's excellent! Alexander members deserve it!
You could start Mon or Wed at 6:45 am, instead of 7 to get the full hour in and end at the same time. I and other members work and can't do the 1-hour Bodypump offered at 9:30 am. Simply asking you to make the earlier classes 1-hour as well.
Good location and friendly staff and members
Earl Jones, Pearl Alexander, AJ, Anthony (Tony), the sauna, the pool, clean shower walls, hot water are all topnotch assets.
Clean friendly services from the staff

Nice place to go swimming and enjoy the steam room when it is working ;-)
Great season! Coach Parker was wonderful. All of the ref's were wonderful and spent time to help the boys understand the game.
Overall a great experience for my son! Coach was super friendly and great with the kids.
The small group size was great. The coaches were absolutely fantastic! The girls seemed to love their experience. Two thumbs up from us.
EVERYTHING!!!
I love the Alexander Y, people are friendly, it’s clean. They take care of the equipment and replace the machines when necessary.
They offer lots of different classes, for whatever kind of workout you like.
I like the Y as a gym because it is casual and you don't feel uncomfortable working out there
Alexander has the best weight floor of the Wake County YMCAs.
Great value and heartwarming tradition of giving back to the community in providing a well run and safe fitness facility.

The coaches were supportive, the practice and the game times were convenient, the emphasis on good sportsmanship was positive, it is one of the only all female leagues for younger girls.
-Things that kept me from putting a 10-
-Changing the final game time at the last minute to accommodate a Christmas event- if there needed to be a change, it should have been communicated way earlier in the season. We only had 2 girls who could attend the changed time.
- Teams could have used a couple more players- since Finley Y doesn't have all girls basketball at this age and Raleigh Parks and Rec is still doing co-ed for this age, consider doing more active recruitment for the teams- to shoot for at least 6 teams of 7-8 girls, allowing them to have a longer season and to continue to develop the skills they had been working on.
